What's the emotional part of it? For me the owners are an irrelevance. They have no impact on my emotions. The way the team performs on the pitch to, but my emotional link with the team overrides any desire to walk away. I see doing that as bit of a cop out really.
It's funny that the moral boundaries are obviously moved when a trip to Wembley is on.I see the point you are making, but everyone has their own moral boundaries. As we see on here people measure performances differently. Key for me people measure expectation differently!

If the team is doing ok then less people will moan about the owners. If we get promoted there will be no threads on here berating Sisu. It's all about winning games.

Exactly. For you. This may come as a shock but someone has to break it to you so it may as well be me. Not everyone is an emotional carbon copy of you. Different people have different emotional barriers and therefore have different breaking points. You haven’t reached yours yet and as a matter of fact neither have I, doesn’t mean no one else has. What's the emotional part of it? For me the owners are an irrelevance. Ask that question to the 40000 fans at Wembley. It was obviously ok for them.if doing ok is a win in a cup competition for the bottom 2 EFL leagues and 2 relegations, then we are doing ok...

There’s only one of us trying to be a smart arse and it isn’t me. I’ve talked about the human condition in the most basic of terms and because you can’t argue those most basic of terms you’re trying to be a smart arse by pretending that I’m trying to be a smart arse. Unless of course you actually do believe that everyone is an emotional carbon copy of yourself, which I doubt, given your response to the point. I’m not falling for it personally but I guess some will. You do make me laugh when you do this smart arse act
What's that got to do with the morality of fans you dweeb?so much so the vast majority no longer go to league games and give us the vital match day income we need ?

it shows they don't support the actions of the clubs owners, by not being at the games week in and week out.
It shows that the Northampton season had a huge effect on many peoples love affair with ccfc
it shows that in a one off game, we have a huge support that with the right owners and the right set up, we could be a huge club
no need for the name calling,
I said 'for me' in my original post for exactly that reason. I recognised that people are different. You then did your smart arse act for some reason.
How many season ticket holders did we have last season? What was our average home gate?Well 45,000 haven’t when the mood takes them

That’s because of our league status Tony nothing to do with the owners.
Had a season ticket at Sixfields for City also, Someone had to support the very young team we had. I supported the Team not the Regime and I certainly don't regret it.Well I'm somebody's grandad and I did go to Sixfields for that very reason. I knew that if i stopped going I might not return. I don't know how many more seasons I'll be fit enough to go so I will not sit around waiting for SISU to go however much I despise what they have done.
Bottom line though is we still have a club to support.
Just answer the question. My point will actually have nothing to do with league status or the owners. It will have everything to do with your “statement” though.
What you actually said was
“What's the emotional part of it? For me the owners are an irrelevance. They have no impact on my emotions. The way the team performs on the pitch to, but my emotional link with the team overrides any desire to walk away. I see doing that as bit of a cop out really“
You’re taking how you feel and using it as a datum point to judge others. How you feel is only relevant to how you feel and completely irrelevant to how others feel. You’re labelling their decision as a cop out when you obviously have no interest in understanding how they reached that point because in your black and white view you’re right and everyone else is a cop out.
Well it does Tony as our crowds and season ticket holders are determined by the league we are in and not the owners. Unless you are saying that under these owners those emotional souls wouldn’t turn up if a big Premier league club turned up for a cup game.
I think they’d pack the emotion away for the day - oh and bitch and moan if they didn’t get a ticket.
I've expressed my opinion that it's a cop out which is my right. I didn't say I was right, you said that.
I did ask how you how SISU might directly effect their emotions so they reach the decision not to go but you didn't bother to answer.
WhooshYou need to know how SISU might directly effect people’s emotions? Seriously? Have you been locked away in a cave for a decade or something? That surely can’t be a serious question.
Whoosh
Some of the credit needs to go to Mark Robins for securing players on longer term contracts, developing a scouting structure [although limited] and adding stability where there was none! Additionally, Tynan seems to work very hard behind the scenes trying to generate interest and new revenue streams. I don't think recent developments have anything to do with the owners strategic vision......more some decent staff!

Clearly you know the point that I’m going to make so won’t answer the question.
Well it clearly isn’t but in the end football literally is 11 v 11 kicking s ball and you choose to go with it or you don’t.
In the 46 years I’ve gone I think we’ve in balance overachieved as I’ve seen a large amount of that time in the top level.
It’s not about that though is it? My family come from Cumbria and I went to a Carlisle game when I was just visiting and I’m sure I’d still be watching them for 46 years if they were my club.
I don’t care about owners. This isn’t apartheid it isn’t the advent of the third reich. It’s a game of football. You like to go or you don’t anymore and that’s it.
Yes but my point is why I don't go. No move to Northampton and like loads of others, I would have carried on renewing my ST in whatever division. Moving was a line in the sand. The legacy of that is that my habit-and routine-of going to see City play every home game was broken and with a very very bitter taste left in the mouth. It was the move that caused a 23+ game a season supporter to become a 1-2 game a season one. A club in Northampton didn't feel like "my club", to use your phrase. And now I do other stuff most Saturday's when I'm not working.
I never crossed my moral boundary. It's funny that the moral boundaries are obviously moved when a trip to Wembley is on.

Once we had relative success in league one under Mowbray before the collapse we started to increase attendances fairly significantly so you may have that reaction but it’s the minority view

SISU were still our owners for the Checkafuckwit final. As Wasps have shown people in this city only care about the experience on the day. They offer freebies all over the place and the ability to drink in sight of the playing area. We offer League 2 football against garbage opposition who we struggle to break down.
It's all about the 'product' now. If we go up 3 leagues under SISU the stadium will be packed.
Of course the take up would be big.don't agree at all. I reckon apart from the big games, it would be a modest crowd
Really cant see over 20k turning up to watch Burnley, stoke (14k in fa cup game this year), Swansea etc.
