I reckon they would have loaded up some debt against it and there would have been city wide outrage.

As I said amusing that Wasps did it within weeks and we heard not a peep from anyone.

SISU need to pay their investors, The Ricoh would of been a great asset to their investors, seems odd to think they''d sell up when they could of made more money for them in the long term.

And it would have been attractive to new buyers. A football club with a big fan base and a stadium with a 250 year lease! Even I think they would have been queuing up. But alas, it wasn't to be. The Londoners have it now.

The council were finding SISU impossible to deal with.
A high Court judge has looked at all this and believed SISU were just going to keep driving the price down as low as possible.
I appreciate some fans only think about Coventry City FC and if ACL went bust losing both the council and charity a shit load of money and that suits Coventry then so be it.
Personally I get what the council did.
They clearly lost trust in SISU.
They were getting blackmailed in a business sense and were getting forced into a corner.
They gave SISU one last warning to put in your best offer or they would go elsewhere.
SISU didn't put in an offer so they went elsewhere.
They now have potentially Europe's largest rugby club in Coventry.
The local charity got 2.7 million plus on ongoing deal for more money.
Wasps are involved in the planning of further business projects with the council. The Ricoh is back in action
Concerts and conferences are back in play.
The council got 2.7 million and a business partner it seems they can trust and do business with.
The football club came back to the city as oppose to been out in Northampton as a blackmail tool for 5 years.
Yes it has screwed the owners of the club and with the current arrangements temporarily the club itself.
However only as a CCFC fan could you possibly say it wasn't a shrewd and wise move by the council.
If you are one of the guys who took that decision or a neutral looking from the outside it was a very good move.
As a disgruntled Cov fan you will find every possible way to discredit it as it pissed us off massively.
I just hope in the future we get new owners who can work with Wasps in a way that it no longer screws the club.

Haven't they already loaded up debt against CCFC, with interest on top? Yet no outrage there either.

No outrage!? You don't read SBT and the CT too often then.

Not at all. It's just that I wouldn't "shudder" at the prospect of my team owning it's own stadium and being attractive to new buyers.
So you believe everything SISU say then?.. Never thought the only thing they wanted was the Stadium to, Lets say, knock down and build houses, or business premises. Hang on a sec... De ja-vue....*Shudder* Had a horrible feeling then? Never stopped to think they are using our Football Club as a pawn?.. Nah! you probably haven't.

Notice nobody mentions people pre SISU, remember the people who wanted to develop and were told no?

You really think they would get the ricoh to knock it down and build houses? Surely the freehold owner would have a say?

Do people honestly believe SISU came back because the council convinced them they this it was the first step to buying ACL. If they came back ACL would be sold to them.
At the same time ACL was getting sold to Wasps and SISU had no idea.
Then when they arrived back low and behold they discover they had been duped !!!!
It was never going to be sold to them!!

They came back as the ground was being sold to wasps and the deal was struck at a low level rent to allow wasps PR machine to engage the community

Sisu did not budget for gates of 7,000 at sixfields and they provisioned funding to see them through the court case

The opportunity when presented to them clearly had to be taken if only to make the court case plausible. It's idiotic to suggest the council agreed the terms and then low and behold sold a week later. It's very clear all parties agreed that for expediency it was the only way forward.

Nothing to do with NOPM as I can assure everyone that they would have stayed put if the council and acl were still isolated and going slowly bust

I can't be bothered with all that bullshit but just answer one question - if they were that concerned about the charity why didn't they extend the lease when they were still part owners? Answer that then I'll start on the other ill informed tripe you've posted

Wasn't there talk of them doing something like that a few years ago?

Yes, by posters on here. Then idiots repeat it like Chinese whispers!

Haha, what a fucking joke. Knock it down and build houses? Who owns the freehold again?

Did you not see the video posted on here a few days ago where Tim was laughed at by saying 7000 will come? He looked serious about it, and pissed off when the room started laughing.

He also looked serious when he mentioned building a statue of Joy alongside Jimmy

Yeah I mentioned that, how is that classed as bragging? Teaching my children the value of principles.

I have as well, and at 15 and 11, they made their own mind up that they wanted CCFC kit and to still go to games. They still hate SISU as well.

Does that mean mine and my kids principles are any less than yours?

Mine are 5 and 7, they've only ever known SISU, so yours are a bit lucky...

Already said this to Torch, isn't that your option and your own problem what you teach your kids about the owners of this club we love? Why bring in the principles about what I teach my own children compared to yours? Why would I care for that matter?

Also my children haven't demanded to go games or get a shirt, they still have last seasons to wear, they still see the club away from home, but only twice thus far this season compared to last.

My lad is ten and like his Dad lacks principles. Ah well.
No, you lack being assertive, but that's my opinion ;)

EDIT:

Just so you know why I used the word assertive:

'Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other people's rights in a calm and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting 'wrong'.

Right so anyone who takes their kids to the Ricoh isn't being assertive?

I know what it means. As i said are you saying Ricoh attendees taking their kids to see the team they support are being unassertive and not standing to up for the rights of those who just go to away games like you or are doing the NOPM thing?

By going we and thousands of others are accepting "wrong"?

So, cant I slag off the Council as well as SISU you muppett.
Where have I said that you can't?... Torchy was going on about it being alright to slag off SISU but not CCC. I pointed out he, Nick, and Grendel to name but 3 always do it. He then said Yes just 3 so I named another 4-5 that do it, you being one. Not lying am I? Just doing a "Nick" "For Balance" like.
