Some real nonsense here.

1. The team hasn't played attractive football since Armstrong and Murphy started to misfire after last December. We've always played one up front and played high balls over the defence

2. Slade inferred a team that had lost around 6 games on the run

3. The players he has bought in look far better than the players they have replaced.

The one issue that will cost is is goals. Teams in this league don't play attractive passing football. It's a physical league - look at Burton last season,

Margins are very thin. We could easily be 5 points better off. Like it or not fleetwod are a better side.

We competed well and there was little difference over 90 minutes.

It took Adams I think 6 games to get his first win - the key will be who he can get in as a striker.

But let's not kid ourselves he's a long ball merchant and we can play a premier league football style with the players we have.

Grendel I agree with you. It's not black and white they are fine margins and we keep coming up just the wrong side of them.

Reilly played as well as anyone today and was as good as I've seen him.

The football is dire percentages football but we are not going to survive playing pretty football so he's brought in a few beasts at the back and he will hopefully bring in some pace and a presence up front.

EVERYONE in this league is SHITE. And that gives me a glimmer of hope.

Yet you said we competed well.

We didn't-we literally hung on.

It wasn't end to end football-it was one way traffic.

We struggled to put two passes together & had a handful of shots on target the whole game.

Season ticket for 45 years. What are you saying then? Venus should have bern retained as manager?

I'll ask you the same question - did you think this was a 4th vs bottom team game and could easily tell which side is which?

The players are in a malaise and a lot have no interest. That's not the fault of the current manager.

Lol! He was our Man of the Match!

I wonder how many saves he had to make to get that!

They had 11 shots with 5 on target and 3 blocked!

We had 5 shots with only 2 on target the whole game.

Go figure...

So was I and that is the worst team in our history.
shame we never had a whistle or someone farting we could then have blamed them for losing.

This team is appaling but you can't even blame the players. If they are not good enough for this league, it is not their fault.
No matter what happens we need investment or we are fucked, Sisu don't want to invest so they should fuck off before they completely kill us off.

The players are doing there best.
Other than about 3 of them they are not good enough at this level.
It's all about the budget but also lack of commitment by players and poor teamwork.

First half has to be about the worst I can ever remember. Second s little better and at least we created a couple of chances. The two new defenders look ok but the midfield was hopelessly weak and Willis as wing back didn't work but Haynes did ok. Up front looked so ineffective it was embarrassing...how many shots did we have? Mind you giving high balls is no good when our front line is so small.

I cannot understand the credit Slade is getting by some people, if he was any good he would be somewhere else , he has not done anything even though half of the team are his choice to make me feel any more confident in this guy. He is taking the piss, I believe Venus has a better record than him like for like and people are still supporting him .

I fear that ship has sailed, we have a team of league two players and the only few players will be snapped up next season for pennies. League two a certainty now....

We were truly awful today, and IMO the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. They were shite to a man today Burge aside.

The plan today to play hoofball for 90 mins, using Rose for 35 mins as the big man (won 2/3 headers), bypass the midfield and effectively play for a defensive error is the worst tactical bit of management I have ever witnessed by a CCFC manager. Even topping Grandison up front v Portsmouth in the cup!

Do you think there was a lot between the teams really? How many saves did Burge have to make?

Tend to agree with you Grendel - wasnt that enamoured with Reilly before, but thought he put in a good shift in the second half

I have a horrible feeling that the players don't want to play his style of whatever it is because it certainly isn't football, and to be honest I can't blame them.
It would be like a proper journalist being asked to write for the CET!

On another note, don't really get the "there wasn't much between the teams" comments. They were far, far better in the first half and should have been ahead going into the break.
Agree the seeds of this current shite were sown long before Slade arrived though. The striker he brings in and how long Beavons out will determine whether we have any chance of survival.

I can't wait to see who this saviour striker is going to be ...... the whole future of CCFC hangs on someone we don't know who might get injured and in all eventuality could be just shite .

On the other hand the current Manergerial incummbant could actually start to do his job and use the resources he has brought in already in concert with legacy assets to actually achieve a result.

Over to you Russel you have talked the talk ......

Surely today having Pontcelli on the bench and chucking him on as he is a striker would be a better idea than an average wideman up top!

Right today (for a variety of reasons) was my first game of the season... And maybe that gives me a more neutral point of view than some... The players have to take the wrap for that load of shite...

The manager obviously set them up to play hoofball from the off, but there was no excuse whatsoever for the lack of effort shown. It was inevitable they would nick one in the end. I think the response the crowd gave when a few players tried to come over and clap the fans, said it all...

I'm not one to jump on bandwagons, blame the manager, owners, whatever, but that was the performance of a team who have no pride in themselves. It was heartbreaking. Every bit of abuse they received was warranted and they can fuck right off. I'm no professional, not by a long shot, but I've played football enough to know when people don't have their heart in it, and I'm sorry to say we are down with this team. With the most optimistic benefit of the doubt, they are severely lacking confidence, but it looked to me like a group of players who don't care.
