Mom - by a few pissed up blockes in the exec box of the sponsor.
Christ.
The last time City were relegated from the third division it was due to the introduction of the new fourth division. Teams who finished in the bottom half of the old Third Divisions North and South were relegated to form the new division. The team of that season did not finish in the bottom four, someone on here will know the actual finishing position. That team spent only one season in the fourth tier, finishing runners up and gaining promotion at the first attempt. On that basis it is fair to say that even statistically, this team is likely to be the worst in the clubs football league history. They are certainly the worst team in my 50 years of watching this club.Worst team in our history? Are you 130 years old?
If don't want slade sacked , I believe he should be given a fair shot .
But the brand of football currently on display is the worst I've ever seen
Definitely going down with these players. Slade is not to blame, the die was cast both by SISU's shambolic mismanagement and Mowbray's dreadful summer recruitment. Slade should be retained, release the entire squad and recruit an entirely new squad in League 2. However the budget will no doubt be squeezed again and the quality will decline further albeit surely that is practically impossible as most of the current squad are non league players at best.

Why should they? Most of them wont be here next season and I doubt they get paid any more for avoiding relegation.
Im sure slade will get us winning sooner or later. Just hope its not too late by then.
At some point thoigh his supporters will have to stop putting all his defeats down to summer recruitment.
Come on slade. Step up
You can't lump the football forward and expect results unless you can win a fair percentage of headers. Today we won 2 or 3 all afternoon but it was the only approach we had. Of course we will win a game or two before the end of the season but playing the tactics we did with the personnel we have it isn't going to produce enough good results to keep us up

Beavon had a hamstring injury though, so Slade's hand was forced.he made the sub at ht, next not until 82nd min. He set up for a draw and it backfired. he got it completely wrong today in many areas. Hope he learns from his mistakes otherwise hello L2

It's with sadness that I have to agree. I always think that supporters need to give a manager a chance but after having witnessed the last 2 games and given Slade time to implement his 'style' of play.
He really will drag us down, players are playing scared. We are playing dark ages football and he show nothing to suggest it'll get any better.
Only have to look at when he uses his substitutes -doesn't use them to change the game-only as emergency. No tactical nous at all.
Fuckin fuming

Yes the players were poor but how many of them were played out of position? Willis certainly, rose and jones second half. Coupled to that we had wing backs but never got them into the game as we hoofed the ball up to possibly (first half) the two smallest players on the pitch. The two young midfielders were lost, bypassed and ineffective. We never really looked like scoring and the only chance we had was Reilly's header. Not good enough when at home and when trying to avoid relegation.
The defence was ok but it only needed one slip (literally) for the game to be lost. On the corners we concentrated too much on pushing those trying to block burge and I felt we lost a bit of concentration as a result.

For the next game at Northampton (don't care about the EFL Trophy, I would trade a defeat at Swansea for 3 points on Saturday 100 times out of 100), I think RS needs to remember that wing backs do not seem to work, for anyone.
Time to get back to a flat back 4. Hopefully Stokes will be fit enough to at least start, even if he does get hauled off after 65 mins; we need him. Time to accept that Turnbull and maybe Willis aren't first choice CB now. I'd be tempted to go with Rawson, Clarke and Foley at RB (with either Willis or Harries as a replacement in case Rawson finds the going tough or Foley struggles to complete the 90 mins.
Time to give Jones a good go too. Why keep him out of the fray longer? Stick him on the right of midfield. Reid back to full fitness so automatic starter on the left, with a licence to drift inside. Stevenson and Rose in the middle. It's not clear what Rose's best role is but I'd like to see him partner Stevenson, with Reilly also on the bench so we can make a swap either directly for Rose or indeed for Jones if we want to try Rose on the right flank. Separately, I also wonder whether Rose might turn out to be our best option at right back (he could even switch roles with Foley who has been known to play a holding midfield role).
We seem to have little choice up front - Beavon if he's fit, probably with Tudgay who at least has scored 100 career goals and has some know-how, even if he is a bit of has-been. As I said in another thread, if Kwame Thomas is fit then throw him on off the bench.
So:
Burge
Stokes
Clarke
Rawson
Foley
Reid
Rose
Stevenson
Jones
Tudgay
Beavon
Subs: RCC, Haynes, Harries/Willis, Bigi, Reilly, Lameiras, Kwame
Although, frankly, unless we get some new signings in, if that's the best team we can put out, we are probably doomed. Alan McCorkmack in the middle with Rose at RB and Foley at CB with Clarke would be an interesting look, here's dreaming....
I would give it to Grendel as he talks as much shite as we playedGrendel-At least Jesus Christ saves (although he's terrible with crosses)....
Really would be interested in your venerable opinion on who should have got MOM...

I know the bastardsDon't know what you're all on about. It's the fans fault, remember?
They're professional footballers. Why should they not?Why should they? Most of them wont be here next season and I doubt they get paid any more for avoiding relegation.
Like at some point you must stop trying to defend Mowbray!Im sure slade will get us winning sooner or later. Just hope its not too late by then.
