autos requires too many teams who have otherwise played well this season to now suddenly play badly. It could happen, but unlikely. Nor is our team good enough man for man to win a high enough % of games (and Robbins is too defensively minded)

Just has a scan of all the March fixtures for all the teams, many of the top 6 playing each other throughout it. Some will have to drop points, even if draws, wemust keep the pressure on until Good Friday games.

Personally think Luton and Accrington are two guaranteed places for promotion and the rest are in the mix depending on the next 12 games. Anyone’s to go for or throw away. Let’s hope that Robins lucky streak continues.

If we get in the play offs then I want the top 3 to be Luton, Accrington and Swindon. Although we have beaten Swindon twice, I think they are very capable on their day. Accrington are a tough nut, and Luton are likely to go up anyway. I would fancy us against N County, Exeter and Wycombe over 2 legs (The Beast will have blown a gasket by year end) and I am hoping Mansfield implode (but we'll have them anyway). Automatics would be lovely (if a bit of a stretch - although 7 points from the next 3 and I'll start getting greedy)!

Think id rather mansfield get autos than swindon. Id happily have any of the others in you mentioned in the play offs though.

Not necessarily. We’re 8 points off 3rd at this moment with a game in hand. We could be in position come Luton at home that we could cut that deficit to 5pts with 8 games to spare and 24 points to play for. It could even end up being less. It’s not outside the realms of possibility.

In the next 4 games, we’re playing 3 teams we beat earlier in the season and we drew at Barnet. The next 3 games are at home so we should be aiming for 7pts. If we hit that... it really is game on.

Yeah and I do think the no easy games tag is valid, especially at this time of the season. So often you get the teams near and around the bottom whose form can suddenly improve as the season draws to an end.
Going to be a lot of teams now fighting for pride, position and players wanting to be retained into next season.
Barnet beat both Notts County and the at the time, high flying Colchester lately and look at Morecambe away at Wycombe.

Forest Green 3 wins and a draw last 4 games - good point you have made!

Loads of games will be off

Won't be the end of the earth if our game is off - at least Doyle (who is so important) will get more recovery time for his knee - mind you he will also get that if he picks up a booking and gets a 2 game suspension!

Swindon are the only other team in the mix, bar us, who haven't been able to put a run together this season. They were poor at home and brilliant away (they've scored in 17 of their 18 away matches), since the new year that has flipped completely and they are now unbeaten in 5 at home but haven't won away in 4. If Flitcroft goes, who knows what effect it will have!

Exeter will be the team challenging for 3rd i think. They have games in hand, just won 2 on the bounce away from home, like us they now have 3 consecutive home games and on paper a relatively easy run in.

My gut feeling is that we'll have a decent end to the season, finishing 4th or 5th after a decent run in, without really challenging for the autos, followed by a lot of wistful looking back at unambitious points dropped and goalkeeping errors.

That was my feeling. Too many teams have to have their form implode for such a relatively modest team as we have to be able to get to the auto spots.

We would need to buck the trend and deliver a fantastic run of form and also sustain it to the end of the season.

Think Newport has gone already, we need to be on as it gets a game out of the way and some of the other teams with smaller squads will get a fixture pile up

Yep Newport and Accrington will have a rest!

I'd much prefer us to play and get the win and watch everybody else have to win their games in hand, more in control that way.
