If it is a 15,000 capacity to start should we push to move from the Ricoh?

It would be a massive boost to the town centre, I also think we would get a load of addition transient student fans.

Even places like the motor museum and stuff like that would get a boost from it.

If it wasn't our fault you would think our fans and local media would be putting that much pressure on the council they would have to cave in.
It depends really I think if they were blocking planning applications in the current climate they would have to be on very safe terms to do it.
So they would be getting pressure from those affected by the development and pressure from those wanting it.
Then again the Ricoh would have got the green light in the same circumstances

Actual question (not sarcasm).

What have other clubs done in the situation of new stadiums? Have they shown in an depth business plan to fans with facts and figures and asked their permission?

It's the kind of thing I would expect as standard practice
As they should have all the facts and figures in order to persuade potential investors and planning departments and the customer.
However I don't get the impression it happens

It would and hotels and the bars

Exactly.

What worries me is the way things will do, Andy Turner was getting excited of the thought of CCFC and Wasps players promoting things in Coventry. Think that is a bit insulting to be fair.

They will have things like that for the investors and planning departments.

I'd guess the fans get to see a fancy 3d model and stuff but not the workings outs.

We might just be watching it happen right now, at close quarters.

Not just us, either.

I'm not convinced the rush to new stadiums is anythng other than a short term fashion. Much like in the 30s, Tudor housing was considered worthy of flattening, now it's the pricey, expensive, unique property that defines places... I reckon the old grounds will do similar in years to come.

Ironic that a hedge fun in Liverpool's owners seems to understand that better than most...

I said no. Because after away allocation probably get 10k Cov fans maximum. 15k stadium simply isn't big enough G.

Highfield road was 23k. It's a step backwards. I don't want to rent of wasps either but at a low 100k rent as it stands it's surely better even if the rent was doubled.

As OSB said we can earn more but then there are more costs and for the sake of a 15k stadium it's not worth it for me. 25k stadium and I'm in.
Why would you give away 5k away tickets you cretin?

We need OSB to be allowed a look at the figures then translate it to us.
I am completely genuine about my concerns by the way. It isn't because it's SISU.
I still hold a hope for us to return to the Premier League.
However the Premier Lesgue has now became massive.
People travel from South Aftica to watch Swansea!!!!
WBA have fans coming from around the world you couldn't make it up.
The Premier League has far more interest from the days when we were last there. If we ever get back there we will be in a stadium that can never be expanded.
So that will be it for us in terms of developing as a club.
If you accept that we will never come out of the championship 25k is enough. However we are going to start at 15k that worries me.
Why when we were talking to Rugby council we needed 18k. Now we are looking st a far better location which should attract more fans just on the location alone15k is suddenly ok?
I genuinely think if we get the 15k it will be a long time before we see expansions and many fans will have to miss out first to justify people spending the money in the expansion.
Also who pays for the expansions?
The first build maybe paid for by some development scheme.
You can't do that fit expansions.
It is my location of choice by a country mile far better than any other suggestion. But 15k is riddiculous and 25k cap I'd a future potential limiter for the development of the club.

It's a waste of time trying to have any sort of debate with you Nick.
I'm out.
Why is it? People say the club is dying under sisu etc, but then on the other hand worry about what happens in the premier league.

Ideally we would get new owners, 30k a week and be in the premier league.

Are we likely to get new owners at the ricoh? We saw what put off potential buyers when sisu came in.

Yes, people like haskell had a sniff but that was also before wasps.

What's the likelyness of being taken over as we are now, or with a 50/50 in town with a smaller ground with demand for tickets?

Well the Wasps action plan was to buy stuff and then get other people to pay for it.

And they're business afficionados apparently...

Genuine question, why do you have to say "you cretin" it really shows yourself up very badly. It's a thick mentality and I would just have a think. That's all.

Well 15k would be a couple thousand to away fans and 1k secretion probably so 12k I guess.

How is a move to the Butts going to be good for the supporters? Where is the extra income going to come from on a limited gate and no room for the much heralded money making facilities and shops . Then there is the funding of the build ! Have our senses been blurred by our owners fecking up on securing the Ricoh
Sorry I've bumped my own post but can anyone help me out with this one .

What do you think the response would be if SISU said they were going to fund the building of a new stadium with a bond issue with millions also being paid back to SISU?
I would say why didn't they just buy the stadium they were supposed to in the
first place.

Just for arguments sake one attendance next season of 30k at the Ricoh at say £15 average ticket price is £450,000 of which we keep all that as we know.

So all well and good moving to a new ground which will cost millions and millions and endless amounts of time probably just to get this off field revenue but a couple of big gates at the Ricoh for whatever reason and you've got more revenue than you ever could of hoped for at the butts. Oh and we don't have any costs on that either other than usuals.

Seems to me this off field 365 revenue is a bit hyped up. Not saying we don't need as who would want it but it's just showing the above shows how success breeds success IMO.

It won't be better for supporters, or more lucrative for the club, but it will be away from the Ricoh,
which it seems to a lot of supporters is preferable to the wellbeing of the club.
I did answer earlier Buster, here you go, for what it's worth

The most we've ever averaged in ticket revenue at the Ricoh was £12 - it's now far less.

Because out natural fan base at full market pricing is a lot less than 30,000 - the Crewe game was £5 a ticket so the revenue was poor - same problem wasps face - supply exceeds demand so pricing is slashed.

What will it be next season? Season ticket prices have increased so I assume that match day tickets will to. Surely that means it will be more next season than far less.

Which is true. At the moment we are fooked. Agreed. When JH came he increased our fan base. At the moment we have no charismatic leader. So, in this instance you are umgh er right...

Prices aren't higher next season than they have been previously so average price is unlikely to top the previous high of £12.

It won't be because:
1) It will be harder to get to
2) Impossible to park
3) Symbolise lack of ambition
4) Any piecemeal development will Saddle the club with debt
4) Should the club (by divine intervention) become successful half of fan base won't be able to get tickets.

Also, can a balanced individual please tell me why this is the "real" poll?
