So what are we capable of then ? (1 Viewer)

Dare I suggest Jagielka as the old head???
He's out of contract at Stoke at the end of this month.
Just saying.
Now I'm going to get my tin hat on and take cover. 😂
It wouldn’t be a bad shout if he wasn’t going to ask for 50k per week, if he wanted 2/3k I would of said yea because if he don’t bring much game time he definitely brings a “old head” for the younger players

Better LB? Bidwell has been one of our top performers this season, utterly clueless
Not sure about being best performers 😂, he does a job that’s it, most the time he is out of position and sheaf has to drop in the cover, he don’t provide much going foward, but he is a ok player, just better out there.

Sheaf never has to cover for him?

What do you want him to do?
Defend? Yep
Head? Yep
Energy? Yep
Supports attack? Yep
Supports defence? Yep
Organises? Yep

So if that’s not what you’re after ok but that’s a pretty solid championship left wing back

Doesn’t score many
Doesn’t have a long throw
Looks to keep the ball
The only three possible negatives but he’s such a solid championship defender

If we could sure up every position the way we have done with Bidwell I'd be happy. And I don't mean I want a team of Bidwells, I know what I mean anyway.

Solid championship player.

Better LB
Allen type player with quality
And a old head for the back line to replace fadz,
Bidwell record 652 passes 74% completed,39 tackles attempeted 90% sucess.A record of just shy of Gus on passing and way better than him on tackles.Perhaps it should be Gus we replace on those stats. You dont like Allen 82 % pass rate even tackles which is not his games he manages 61% on a par with COH,
Fadz 82% passing 87% tackles.Has God got some boots?Just try and keep him fit

Slow, can’t pass in attacking 3rd, out of position a fair bit, for a “old head” he shouldn’t be, in just saying if there was one place we need to improve its there, I mean we have no one as cover for lb.

Passing around the back is a lot different to pinging it 40 yards, defenders passing stats are useless, if that’s the case Erik dier has something like 91% passing success rate and has more passes than KDB, 😂

Top 6 is really achievable if keep key players fit. This doesn't feel like a pipe dream playoff season like I remember under Coleman one year.

Sheff utd next. Take a draw but if best then we target autos!
Luckily it’s nothing like that Coleman season - Robins is a much better manager. I think the season you’re on about we beat Peterborough away 1-0 and then didn’t win again for the rest of the season.

Burroughs if he carries on his improvement can play on either side. It’s at centre back where we really will need players as we have none contracted for next season.

Goalkeeper as well

To improve our chance of promotion I’d look at a player like Liverpools Nat Phillips on loan a proven top championship player don’t think he’s on loan anywhere and yes he would cost a large wage but with extra funds pumped in and the huge prize on offer by getting to the Premiership could be a worthwhile gamble.

Correct, and absolutely nothing wrong with keeping the ball, he never seems to lose it, just keeps it simple retain possession , and we build the next phase.

I think we were 7th in march and then it fell apart. We played Plymouth at home and McIndoe scored I think for a 1-1 draw. That felt like opportunity missed and it fell away from there if I remember correctly.

But yeh we never seemed like a good team back then unlike now. Wba had won 4 straight and have a manager that got to playoff final yet we were the better team coming of a demoralising draw.

Good signs

Was that when we had beat Peterbrough and had a game in hand against Cardiff who were 6th?

we drew to Plymouth then lost to Cardiff then it went to shit and we ended up 17th

That sounds about right, we're a much better side now compared to then with a better manager. Under Coleman I never really believed we could make the top 6 but if we keep the side together and strengthen, I don't see why we can't reach top 6 - as you always say though, we need to be aiming for the top 2.
