A bit left field this but I just read a book about indigenous peoples living traditionally . One interesting fact that struck me is that the author noted the village communities they lived in did not have prisons, delinquents or mental health problems. I tend to think social workers are a sticking plaster on a gaping wound caused by the way we live, there are many problems, poor diets, materialism, lack of family cohesion, lack of purpose etc. etc.
