Funny how in this scenario we can't draw conclusions but for the Leeds riots it was instantly pinpointed to muslims
Yep and by some this morning on this very board, eh Saddle? Also, when the attacker was arrested on Monday, it was widely spread by people on here and social media that the boy had arrived by boat last year.

These people like to speculate when it suits them. When it doesn't, they're suddenly interested in facts.

What was? The rioters or those seen as the trigger point ?

Why do you think it's often pinpointed to Muslims. It often is isn't it ? Why not Sikhs, Hindu , etc ?

Haha. I'm watching that on a loop at the mo and chuckling to myself. My favourite clip since that guy during lockdown who was going to play his guitar and then fell off his chair.

Hope his injuries weren't too minor.

Sometimes I'd like to just stop the world and get off, with my wife and kids. It's such a f*&king horrible place sometimes.

I genuinely worry what it'll be like when my 2 yr old daughter and 5yr old son are older. It's scary.
Spot on👍...I worry all the time these days about how the world will be for my Grandchildren in the years to come.
Comes to something when parents need to have trackers on their childrens phones to follow their every move....or never let them out of their sight.

Wonder what the Venn diagram is of people who were outraged a few days ago about a copper being punched and saying its fine to stamp on peoples heads or 'they were lucky they weren't shot' and people who were kicking off and throwing bricks at the police last night?

They can stamp on heads in both cases. In the airport I would have had no issue personally if they were shot

Probably the same as those getting angry at others for using the story to make political points, yet were nowhere on that thread when the full story came out, but are all over this one. It's becoming exhausting, and this fake holier than thou bullshit is quite hypocritical on both sides.

There's clearly some massive issues in this country at the moment, and it is utterly depressing.

Nice to hear that some worshippers from the mosque went out and helped the clean up on the streets.

At least there was a sense of community this morning. Lots and lots of volunteers.

It is heart-warming. Shame it's after such an awful incident .

The pictures of the clean up shows there is integration in the community. Maybe it's not all over the country, but one step at a time.

There's a desire and a need to clear the mess up.

First thing Id do, set up emergencies courts.
All those fuckers in Leeds, them pair of twats in the, airport and all those arseholes last night, give them the maximum sentence allowed for whatever they're charged with, same for all of them so no-one can say its not fair.

That might cool people's jets a bit.

Edit - and that arsehole with the knife yesterday

On form today, Torch.

You have your finger on the Pulse.

Will always play second fiddle to you, dear Otis, "they don't need no education..."

How about if you did it while chanting England till I die, and did it against the express wishes of your daughter's Mum? Would that be appropriate behaviour?

I don't know how anybody can a) think of excusing the original offence and b) defend this rioting. They're both shit and depressing events from shit people, and it doesn't matter if they're wearing a George Cross or a hijab while doing it, they're still shit people who are a disgrace. Personally I wouldn't be labelling anything but the police have. If they've done that without knowledge that would be appalling police work. One assumes they have some intelligence there however... but that's all by-the-by anyway.

All the time, the Mums' voices gets lost and the opportunity to help people cope with a horrific tragedy gets distorted by people wanting to score points.
Are you saying that I'm making the excuse for the lad who did these atrocities ? Care to point out where ? If not me then you should name them.
If my neighbour had abused my daughter I'd hardly think I'm likely to chant anything . Perhaps I'd be on a skateboard though.
Quality post , that.

Now I’m wondering if when the Japanese riot they all stay behind afterwards to clean up
...and knock up a little garden with a few acers and a water feature.

You never struck me as a TikTok user!
I don't use it often tbh usually just to watch some comedian clips...but i looked today to watch the people cleaning up in Southport and came across some posts...
It's very sad ,they are being played/manipulated by some nasty people.

I did see a post on Tiktok saying another "event" in Southport (for want of a better word) is taking place on Saturday, obviously the Police will be fully aware/prepared.
I've also seen posts saying Leicester is being targetted for a demo (again the Police will be fully aware).
It's very disturbing tbh.
Jesus. Southport don't need any more.

On hols so have been reading when I can. Heartfelt sympathy for the families involved can't imagine what they must be going through.

Amazed at some of the posts here I hope it's mainly down to anger clouding judgement.

My kids were in primary school when Dunblane happened and like others did some petitioning that I hope contributed to changes in the law regarding hand guns. Unfortunately knives are so readily available and while I'd actually like to see less stringent stop search powers to see who's carrying weapons, I can't see any practical way of stopping a random nutcase like this.

Interesting segment on Sky News about the misinformation spread on social media regarding the Southport situation. 20240731_204156.jpg
