I was there and I was at Northampton
Like I said I loved the away games, had some of my best memories watching us away in those days but I certainly don't miss us playing in a barely 1/4 full stadium on a horrible pitch every other week

Do we actually know what Spurs said about how much we could charge kids? They have to agree to the pricing at these games.

Luton in League Two was ace, we battered them I thought we were a shoe in for a title walking out of that game
Had my 18th Birthday at Carlisle away over Xmas so I'll always have a soft spot for there

Make your mind up, yesterday you said "they'll play as strong a team as possible". Go on the Spurs forums, not one mention/moan about kids pricing, unfortunately its the norm these days. People moan about games on Sky and then moan about pricing. this site should be skybluemoan.co.uk

I think the issue is not the price, is value for money ?
If we had played teams off the park, a match against Spurs would be exciting.
However we are yet to find form and spent our last half chasing shadows despite changing our formation 3 times.
If we were on form we would sell out, but as we arent, people have an issue with the value of the pricing.

City traditionally raise their game against better opposition and its likely we will have Sheaf back who makes a big difference, so I’m expecting an upturn in performance

Not difficult, well, for most people.
And of course Spurs aren't moaning, they're used to paying more.
See if you can work out why that might be.

No idea, but I still think it's too high for kids for this fixture, regardless of who's responsible
The average family is not being priced out though are they. We're playing Spurs FFS and its the same price for kids as it was against Oxofrd and cheaper than it was against Norwich. I'm not saying its right, i'm sayings its the norm as proven below.

It wasn't, teams really didn't care.
We turned up at towns and expected it to be their biggest game in history and every ground we visited was empty.
That League 2 season is looked back on fondly because it finished with Cheltenham and Notts County away and Wembley.
There were good moments that season, especially in the cup run but games like Forest Green and Morecambe were the lowest points in the clubs history. Accrington away where fans were abusing the players like never before.
Other days that were dreadful include Yeovil away early on. That horror miss from McNulty when we drew 0-0 away at Chesterfield. Colchester away with about 180 away fans on a Tuesday night in February where we conceded in the last minute.
It was an awful season with a couple of good days out and a good cup run.

Spurs, like the other big clubs will have a very closed system for away fans. Very few kids follow Prem teams away. You wouldn't really see families in a Man United, Liverpool or Chelsea away end.

luton away was great day and the draw at Mansfield which changed the course of our season and our club future.

“so you agree”- I agree with very little you say, don’t do your usual putting words in peoples mouths routine. Your working class hero routine is as nauseous as it is outdated.
The days of George Lowry-type scenes & getting in for 50p are over, happily along with violence, decrepit stadiums, being treated like animals and a very low standard of football.
There’s an argument that it’s gone too far the other way- as I’ve pointed out elsewhere- but going into battle for “the working classes” is pointless and facile.
Oh, and League two was utter shite apart from a handful of games at the end, it was depressing. I don’t know where you’ve got this idea that everyone saw us as Man Utd, most places were half empty and didn’t give a toss.

People getting nostalgic about League 2 - it was an adventure for sure, but wasnt as easy as some made out. We only own 9 away and we'd only won 4 away before the last game in Feb when McNulty scored that pen that we spoke about on here last week when it was freezing cold. That was the catalyst to go on a run imo and when it when we only just snook into the play-offs right at the end. It could easily have been us in Notts Co position if we didnt get up that year and we were very, very lucky in how we did.
