Moaning about the pricing for kids isn't trying to have it both ways.
And personally, I've never once asked for King to put his hand in his pocket.
The harsh economics is that for every kid’s ticket sold, there is lost revenue compared to an adult ticket. Of course, if it isn’t full, and people don’t bring their kids, then the pricing could backfire but I understand why it is priced as it is.

I suppose it could be muted that Doug King is first and foremost a businessman. He’s not a football person and he’s not even a Sky Blue, so from his perspective and the accountants he will be consulting he will see this as a one off opportunity to make as much money as possible to finance the football club. As for keeping the kids on board , I’m guessing he’s not looking that far into the future.
I don’t reckon Spurs will weaken their side that much either, they’re hardly winning many trophies every season now.
I’m sure there will be upwards of 28000 in attendance!

So how come qpr can offer kids free with an adult ticket and adults under 25 quid against palace ... do they not want new players ?
That’s up to QPR how they operate. Without the data to hand, DK has clearly identified fraud in the kids ticket prices that the club is trying to stamp out.

Again, 20-25% of STHs being concessions was inflated and being abused. The club is trying to improve its commercial footing and the bigger picture is that our ticketing policy is actually quite reasonable.

This is absolutely right - Doug King’s only aim is to achieve promotion and then sell at a chunky profit.
As you say, he isn’t a Coventry fan, so why wouldn’t he?

That's got nothing to do with this match , the club have already dealt with people abusing the system, that's been and gone

It’s not been and gone at all as it’s not the kind of thing you fix over night.

It’s a policy that requires continuous monitoring and policing. Look at how they’ve locked in people into buying certain category tickets for away games.

Definitely cracking down on loopholes.

It has nothing to do with the price of kids tickets v Spurs, not sure why you've even mentioned it at all

QPR are charging nothing for kids with a paying adult v Palace

There's a clear divide here between people who think it's fine, or at least to be expected, and some people who have kids.

There's not exactly an argument to be won is there.

Well no , the people arguing with fans that it's great I'm assuming don't take kids .

I'd think every game was great if I only spent 30 quid on tickets too

I used to take my brother to games when he was a child so I understand the costs involved.

At the end of the day, Tottenham are a top 6 side so it’s a big draw. Prices will be as high as possible to maximise revenue and I don’t blame the club for that.

With respect to Palace, they’re not as a big draw. So their pricing structure being £25 for an adult is probably being inflated by the free kids ticket.

Ultimately, if it’s too expensive, vote with your feet, otherwise people should just stop moaning.

I suppose we’re just lurching from outrage to outrage now.

I’ve got no issue with it. Probably the best/biggest team we’ll play all season and the chance of a very memorable result.
Yep, it’s an outrage and ‘something for nothing’ culture now. £20 for an U18 is a bit steep but what’s a ‘reasonable’ price for this game? £15? £10? £5?

With it being a night game, there won’t be many U10s at the match anyway.

Doug is right to do try and stamp out fraud.

But attempting to improve the commercial standing of the club is a fine line which he has overstepped on multiple occasions now. This is very borderline based on this thread.

It smells to me as tho he feels he can hit those with no voice the most. Kids prices/JSB on two occasions now. I have mentioned briefly before about removal of the Armed Forces from concessions as well.

It's a low blow and poorly communicated every time. I think most understand wanting to improve the commercial circumstances of the club, but to be repeating the same things suggests an inability to understand the customer base.

£25, £30, £37 on your own probably not the end of the world. 2 adults 2 kids, parking, food, programme probably £150+ for a midweek meaningless game, albeit against Spurs reserves, on Sky, late night, kids at school. Anyone who doesn't understand either the difference or family economics probably won't get it.

What is the season ticket price for a child outside the FZ?

I'm a little confused by the "hates kids" sentiment. How many kids are paying for their own tickets? Surely he hates parents, if anything? I think people are saying he hates kids because it has more shock value to it. I've also done some digging, and we have some of the most affordable kids tickets in the Championship - through the family zone. So the line of attack doesn't really stack up anyway.

225 u18, 125 u14 (SZ).

Then we should have stuck with that proportion of price vs adult price for season ticket holders and made it £37 for all non season ticket holders regardless of age
