Spurs Tickets (5 Viewers)

The harsh economics is that for every kid’s ticket sold, there is lost revenue compared to an adult ticket. Of course, if it isn’t full, and people don’t bring their kids, then the pricing could backfire but I understand why it is priced as it is.

And if people stop bringing kids were going to have a big issue further down the line

Dropped a bollock, should’ve been £20 for the adult.

Don't be ridiculous. I cannot remember the last time I went to see this cup (probably Old Trafford) and I will be paying £30

Then we should have stuck with that proportion of price vs adult price for season ticket holders and made it £37 for all non season ticket holders regardless of age

I think that would come out at £17.35 for u18, and £9.64 for an u14.

£25, £30, £37 on your own probably not the end of the world. 2 adults 2 kids, parking, food, programme probably £150+ for a midweek meaningless game, albeit against Spurs reserves, on Sky, late night, kids at school. Anyone who doesn't understand either the difference or family economics probably won't get it.
That’s your choice. It’s no different to away games either. You don’t have to pay for things like food, a programme or potentially parking.

Some people will look at as an opportunity to see class players. I don’t think it’ll be Spurs reserves at all, we’re a potential banana skin and shown last season we can beat Prem teams.

In your mind, what should the ticket prices be in your view?

Don't get this, you don't have to buy food for everybody and can park somewhere cheap.

Getting food and drinks for 4 is going to be more than the cost of a ticket.

That’s not how it works, cup games are never priced in proportion to their ST value. The club probably lost money with the low attendance v Oxford (all stands open and low turn out) and needs to recoup that.

We’re paying £35 for away tickets to Watford and Bristol, of course a cup draw v a Top 6 team will be priced as a Cat 1 game.

Well I'd rather pay 49 pound over 70 if I'm honest

Many would

I think what he's saying is charge ST holders 37, and then the kids prices are the same proportion as they would be to adult ST prices. So for you and your 2 kids, it would come to £64.

It should proportionately match the season ticket pricing - Its beyond stupid not to.

The issue goes round and round. Fans disagree with price, but will still buy.

Just to see us play Spurs reserves. Feels a bit like charging full whack for a checkatrade trophy game. Or whatever they call it now.

All you have to do is look at the responses of away fans to our cat A and b kids pricing on social media to understand that we charge too much for kids .

It feels about right, but I would assume it's also a strategic decision to sell large proportion of adult priced tickets for the fixture.

Which is a spit in the eye of those who have committed to season tickets with families. Having one off attendees by pricing out committed customers is no way to go - its bonkers

It's not my choice, it's not my family dynamic or for me. Life is about choices, I'm explaining why I think the pricing is wrong and the cost choice that families will have to make and why therefore, I dont believe we'll sell out. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd wager I'm not. I already said higher up my prices on the tickets and I'd make kids a tenner.

That's the crux of it, your pissing off some of your fan base (parents). But does it actually matter from the owners point of view, when they're almost certain to continue buying anyway.

Well I'd be able to go to 1 or 2 at most .. ridiculous.

I'm sure some on here would find a way to congratulate the energy companies on screwing us more this winter too

Fucking hell. Calm down. There's clearly a difference between going to the football, and your family freezing to death in their own home.

Why are people talking about spurs playing their reserves?

They’ll undoubtedly play a weaker team than in the league but it will still be a very good side. And as the perennial losers that they are this competition is probably their best chance of a trophy.

If we win will you not care because it was “only spurs reserves”?

Not at all. A win is a win. This is entirely about prices.

Of course it matters. What organisation alienates its customer base over anything let alone something that will actually not even maximise sales anyway. Its just stupid and ill thought out. It is basically saying a child season ticket holder is worthless if there is money to be creamed off somewhere else - I think King has done some good but his commercial management looks very amateurish at times

Surely the answer to that is most organisations in the football industry? Just look at the prices of shirts these days.

What are concession prices in this round in other games then?

Remember when people used to obsess over Bradford season ticket prices?

If we charged Bradford season ticket prices when we were in League 2, we would still have had lower crowds than they did.
