Squad Numbers (1 Viewer)

whilst I don't agree with his post, he is only saying what thousands of others are thinking.

Lets face it, a lot of fans would be very excited about a strike pairing of Robinson and McLeod.

I am not sure he is asking for Ronaldo and Messi

What's the point in debating that when its been said we're not even after McLeod? He's basically saying he's not excited enough so bugger it. What's the point in saying it? I couldn't give a crap, and I'm pretty sure most others couldn't give a crap.

Bit surprised that Ben Stevenson and Cian Harries not given squad numbers. Stalwarts of the 18s last season.

So anyone not bursting into tears at random times because "well, things are just so shit, dude" is a "happy clappy optimist"?

Conor at 6? Should be Ricketts.
Wafer thin squad and a sobering read for the happy clappy optimists atm.
Good to see the kids are not given numbers yet.
Hope TM can find a few uncut diamonds in the loan market.

Well we should and so should Sisu.
All we can do in this mess is vote with our feet.
It's difficult to do that 'unless' you are not really 'fussed' about the team.
I can remember when the football was the only thing in my life, but know like most their are lots of other things to do.
I'm lucky enough to be retired and can also do these things and go to football regardless, but others might prioritise other areas.

Like I said, if you don't want to go then fair enough. But don't come on here and say it's because it's not exciting enough. THAT'S what I couldn't give a crap about. And no, I'm not turning this into a SISU thing, so I'll stop you there.

People need to put their opinions over, positive or negative, or our management will think everything is okay.
That's how things work.
I think Sisu understand why people are not coming so lets hope they have taken it on board.

Ivor Lawton is the Under 21's captain and doesn't have a number. George Thomas must have done enough in pre-season to show Mowbray that he can be a regular member of the 18-man matchday squad and I guess the others haven't.

If I have counted correctly that's 19 squad members how much of the £2.5million budget does that leave I wonder ?

Well from what TM has said and from what the clubs chap on twitter has said we're looking to bring in between 2 and 4 more players. That would give us a senior squad of 21 - 23 with the kids as backup.

If we get a four loans (2 seasoned pros at this level and 2 rough diamonds) I think most fans will be happy going into the season

Does the youngsters costs come out of the same budget and what budget does the manager and all his underlings come out of?

The youngsters will come out of the players wage budget, but the manager, etc won't. However, TM has diverted some of the playing budget into his coaching budget.

I reckon then there's about £500k left for other players then not a lot is it

Blimey....they could hardly afford me...only joking. Mind you I would be available for selection more often than Reda, kick straighter than Burge, stay on my feet more often than Madders and be more popular with fans than Martin or Webster. But the problem is I'm over 50, over weight and over paid (still joking on that front). I'm sitting waiting by the phone for TM to ring...perhaps before the Oxford game on Saturday I will be unveiled as the surprise last piece of the jigsaw in the push for promotion. Watch this space

cannot wait for the 24h recall panic....

*grabs popcorn*

The CT can't help themselves.

What should be a positive article that we're close to signing two more players and the first line is "New Coventry City loan striker Adam Armstrong is understood to have a 24-hour recall clause in the terms of the agreement with parent club Newcastle United" before admitting that's actually a standard thing for all youth players.

You have to get to the forth from last paragraph before there's any mention of two new signings coming in.

Anything to give the club a good kicking.

Although the 24 hour recall clause is at least new news.....where the two strikers nearly over the line is recycled from the weekend, although I am sure Mowbrey has repeated it today. The problem is Chiefdave news is news even if it is not very exciting or just someone repeating what has already been heard. The Internet and 24 hour news streams dilutes the news.

19 is not that thread bare considering we have quite a lot of academy players on books not given a squad number.
Jack Finch probably the most notable squad number omission - for me he needs a bit of a jolt anyhow not
sure he will make it but it's down to him.......

If we sign one or two more and add younger players with no squad numbers you are already up to a squad of about
25.......people on here seem to think 40 man squads in league one are the norm on here......!!!

I would expect at least 18 men and then about a dozen boys TBF.
We are about 3 men short at the moment IMO.

Same deal with Chuba Akpom last season, I'm sure it ended with Pressley pissing him off and Akpom returning to arsenal early?

Indeed, Akpoms loan to us was shambolic for City, recall within 24 hours, went back to play for the arse in u18 internanional cups.

so, play his game and arrive late back for Citys game, so he wasnt in the squad for our L1 game.....shambles!

Who ever agreed to the deal should have been shot!

Can't go to watch your team as it's not exciting so go fishing instead? Bet the excitement is off the chart.
Beginning to wonder if this is a forum or an audition for the comedians, seriously though, not looking to see Messi or Ronaldo as someone has said or support Wigan. Can't do every home game because shift work won't allow so looking for that enthusiasm to convince me to do the 100 mile round trip as often as possible. Not there yet I'm afraid, just saying
