Steven Pressley - Who do you think you are? (1 Viewer)

What reason does anyone (including Steven Pressley) have for thinking he can manage a football club?
His only qualification seems to be that he once met Sir Alex....
This week we saw SP failing miserably at Fergie mind games when he not only managed to motivate the opposition striker prior to our meeting, but managed to get a stupid FA charge in the bargain.

I was talking to a fellow fan this morning about Pressley and we both said if we lose to Crawley tomorrow many fans will be wanting him out. Looks like it's already started !

6 points from the next 2 games, which is very achievable, and we'll be back on for promotion with SP being the greatest manager we've ever had!

Make or break time for Elvis sadly, but this is how football works nowadays. He just needs to admit defeat and bin the 5-3-2 as even our wins this season haven't been convincing.

He's doing a good job under the circumstances, he's had no help from the owners, his best players are sold, and it's still early in the season. We've heard all of these quotes and they all have substance but sadly or not football is a results business and he has to get some wins or we know what the outcome will be yet again won't we ?

I'm still laughing! Sometimes it's pretty obvious people need help so let's do that and get behind the manager & the team PUSB!

In the picture it looks like Fergie is marvelling at the size of Pressley's finger.
Pressley and Ferguson are at the Ricoh when Fergie says" Is that a bee on the window Steven ? Pressley replies:" No it's a wasp they've taken over the place !"

Indeed although he has been clear about his formation, so much so that he sold his wingers ala Baker etc so lets hope this doesnt come back and bite him. To be honest i have not been so convinced for years that we have got the right man to lead us but this has also coincided with an unprecidented about of shit off the pitch.

Not a snowball in hells chance of Presley getting the sack, he will be here as long as sisu are, should they go who knows but I say give the guy a proper chance to do things his way.

To be fair Pressley is still very young as a manager and learning. He's passionate and I believe he genuinely cares about this club, he's infectious. This is a journey so we need to stay on track if we want to get where we think we should be.

The only people I know that want Pressley out are fuckwits. They can't get through their thick skulls that we're not in the Premiership and they don't like him because he speaks in proper sentences, doesn't string together a reel of football cliches and is associated with SISU who they'd rather see liquidate the club than be successful. If some of our moronic fans get their way we'll be managerless and playing in a stadium owned by a London rugby club but it'll be ok because they think we've still got Preston Haskell the VIII jr. waiting in the wings, ready to build a statue outside the Ricoh of CCFC's greatest #8 Carl Baker in a Sky Blue Stetson which they can all stand and look at on a Saturday because they 'ain't paying 24 notes to watch that shower of shit'

How many games on the trot do we have to lose before people stop saying that he's doing a good job. 5, 10, 20?

So we base his entire managerial reign on the last 3 games? You looking forward to your key stage 2 SATs?

We were 7 unbeaten before this run - the common dominator - reda getting sent off then not being available

So we now only have one player that keeps us together. SP record is not good so people will start to question him.he does need to start winning again. My question is whygo away ffrom good attacking football like the start of last season, I no we lost certain players but at least we looked like winning games this season it seems like lets try and get a 1 0 win from somewhere.

Yes unbeaten in 7 in that run but none of those games were won convincingly. For me we've played crap football since last Xmas. I can't think of a single game since then in which we've really impressed. Yes we're operating on a shoestring but so are most of the other clubs in this league

I've not got a problem with him. He's the quality I would imagine for a 2 bit league 1 team. Was surprised with the contract given how long our managers last. Another pay off

Wasn't that the same last season?? As soon as Clarke left we plummeted and that was with Wilson and delfouneso (both now playing in the league above), moussa, baker and murphy.

We plummeted because Pressley altered our style and tactics because he didn't believe we could function without Leon Clarke.

And Wilson was out for a while, and now all the goal scorers have left. Oh, and the keeper has gone. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, he's not been given the sale proceeds to spend on replacements.

Incorrect. He continued to try to play the same way and we plummeted, he then brought in Robinson and prutton to change our approach. If anything he was guilty of persisting with the gung-ho approach for too long after Clarke left.

And yet we find ourselves with better players and a stronger squad.

Incorrect. We stopped pressing the ball, passing and trying to play off the forwards.
