Thing that worries me from comments from some folk on here, according to them if we had players who put challenges in like Rojo's and Aguero's, it's the answer to pushing up the league...
Both Aguero and Rojos tackles were leg breakers, potential career ending tackles. Luiz and the Everton player are fortunate to get up after on both. Really infuriates me tackles like that. There is no need for them. Regarding City, what we are lacking is steel or bite that you need in League 1. Unfortunately this is a end product from having academy youngsters in your team. If you put your Under 14s out against men, you are not going to get much fight are you?

the difference between ROJO and Stevenson tackle is the player that rolls around in agony influences the verdict if you ask me The Rojo tackled all be it both of ROJO's legs hit him on the thigh he got up straight away! Stevenson guy did not actually get touched by him it was more like an exagerated leap to get out of the way and then rolled over 3 times the trainer spent a couple of minutes just to drive home the message to the ref, how he got up without limpingStevenson's challenge was a yellow @ worst, Rojo's a straight red, interestingly I was listening to a European football correspondent & in both Germany & France the referees retrospectively view, talk, & if necessary act upon decisions made.
Definitely something that should happen in the UK.
I've got a particularly dangerous tackle that's going a strange reddy colourall dangerous tackles should be a red
stevensons included
Not sure, Sunday league you can have 17 or 18 year olds mixing it up with 30 year olds.
Indeed Nick. I was one of them. I broke into my senior team at 16. I had to learn the hard way how to be stronger and ' mix it' to make a difference in games. I was never a tackler but I had to learn to barge where I can, be stronger when on the ball and never ever shirk a challenge or a 50/50 or a header in the air. Problem is, we have lads coming through with hair bands, pink boots and egos. Some of these lads have been wrapped up in cotton wool fuelled bubble. A lot of lads who play Sunday league are more street wise at times, more up for the battle. I'm not stereotyping, of course thats not everyone but thats how I found it in my own experiences.
That's the thing isn't it, even nowadays in Sunday league you see the lads who have their colourful boots etc and it was always so easy to put them out of the game. They might be skillfull and can catch the ball on their neck after spinning 50 times etc, but you stand on their feet, kick their back leg away when the ref isnt looking, tell them they are shit and most of the time it works.
I remember playing against some horrible bastards, was one who would grab bollocks everytime you went for a header. It was either don't challenge him or get your elbow in early, nowadays the kids would be shitting themselves.
It doesn't matter about age, teach them the dark arts from teenagers instead of diving.
Also, get them playing 5 aside, they were just brawls masked with a football match most of the time.
Why not have the team toughen up a bit? Not being funny but agyei for example is a unit, yet he stands with his arms in his sleeves and the wind blows him off the ball.
There's no aggression at all.
Plus it tells all our opposition exactly how to beat us. The difference in Oxford tactics a few weeks after we passed them off the park was obvious; they stood over every one of our free-kicks so they could re-group and not one Cov player tried to stop them.Exactly, Aggression in the right way is what we need for League 1. We need it from the manager as well. Every post match "yeah we have youngsters against men but we move on to the next game". No Venus, don't brush it off. Its shit. Sort it or fook off. We almost need a Roy Keane type in the club who just tells everyone if its shit and actually attempts to sort it. Too much pussyfooting going on. Tell it how it is. If a player has started shit on a saturday afternoon take the fucker off. These lads earn good money. Desire, effort and commitment are MINIMUM.
We should bring back Big Mo as a coach. He'd soon get them sorted out! I certainly wouldn't not do anything he told me too anyway, the big fucka

The most ridiculous argument I have heard. Maybe egos affect your play somewhat, but hairstyles and the colour of your boots has no bearing on your play whatsoever. Next you'll be saying players in pink shirts must be gay! Well there are several top teams in Serie A who play in pink shirts every week.
