Worst part of all this is that we're gonna have a ton of disappointed fans moaning at the club when we do announce the striker because it's not the ridiculous player they were expecting.

It makes me laugh when I hear variations of this ridiculous argument. After recent seasons of complete and utter shite signings I think that most sensible fans realise the sort of signing we will end up making. I think it is more a case of making a signing that counts, rather than who it is at the moment. When I hear idiots use Messi and Ronaldo in terms of signings and yes I know they are using stupid examples but that is exactly what their statements are because as I said, most fans know what our limits are and what this forum has shown us is that with the use of tinternet nowadays then we can see what sort of players we can actually get and there has been a lot of sensible names touted around. To me it seems like it is stupid twitter accounts that make up shit. Yet we still get told by people like you that there is a ton of us unrealistic moaning old gits looking for a marque signing.

"it's frustrating but the finances mean that we are looking at loan players and those can’t be sorted out while clubs are on tour out of the country.”

Sounds like we aren't in the market for any more perm singings. Whilst I didn't expect Best and Samaras, I did expect us to sign at least one perm striker this pre season.

Whether we like it or not, we are going to need loans. Don't use Egg.

I have a feeling it will be an Everton youngster

I too don't mind loans as long as they are a season long loan. We cant have a season where we chop and change all the time. I am sure a season long loan will be the case with TM sigingings

Walsall are also interested in him but you'd hope Villa would want to help us out after how well we've treated them over the years...

Robinson has been heavily involved in Villa's pre-season and the thinking is that under Sherwood he might get some game time. After a decent spell at PNE last season and after performing well at the Toulon over the summer, I'd imagine if he was to go out on loan it would be in the Championship.

Mcloud in talks with league 1 team not playing against reading tonight wonder is it us?

Wasn't it a loan we are after?

All this talk of mcloud baffles me? He would need a substantial fee to be released from Crawley circa 200k is being touted of which we don't have. It's a non starter if we are honest.

There's not going to be any news re loan striker today according to Kieran Crowley via Twitter. Roll on tomorrow........

Kieran Crowley thinks Mowbray still wants two strikers and two wingers. The fact he wants two wingers still leads to believe he doesn't rate Swanson.

swanson and JOB do not have the pace he wants. might not be here next season, JOB could play CM or AM i guess though long term perhaps.

... or you need 2 players for every position.
We are in the situation that if we start well it will all fall over when injuries start to happen ................. again !!

Decent enough squad players IMO, both are versatile, both can do a job. Sign up 2 pacey wingers to be first choice and Swanson and JOB add quality to the bench.
