Took his ‘goal’ really well. Was it godden offside? If it was, I thought it was a bit silly that he was.
Lets face it love Godden or not he does get flagged offside with increasing regularity, probably to try to make up with lack of pace....As much as I like Godden I cannot see him being our main striker this season unless he keeps somehow scoring ...lets hope I am wrong...its been known before :)

Pretty much sums up my opinion. I like him a lot and he’s tireless upfront but without being blessed with immense skill, strength, or pace...unfortunately I fear he’s not going to be enough for us long term.
Likewise, I hope that he proves to be yet another footballer who demonstrates I know nothing about football!

After Michael Rose being wobbly for more than one game, I’ve no idea why he’d get ahead of Hyam

I think it won't be long before Walker replaces Godden. A few games without a goal now and whether you agree or not with the decision he's not spent that much on Walker not to play, so unless we change our formation I think he has to score against Blackburn.

Judging by his comments last night, MR is very much in disagreement. He singled Gooden out for praise.

Walker has to earn his stripes, and I’m sure given the chance, he will do at some point.

I think I would change the shape to a similar way that Watford set up last night. Basically a 352. I can see a few benefits. 1. we get all of our best players on the pitch. 2. O'Hare is allowed a free role with less defensive responsibility. 3. The wing backs have a bit more protection with 3 CMs and so can concentrate even more on attacking.

Marosi

Rose or Ostigard, McFad, Hyam

Dabo, Hamer, Kelly, Sheaf, Giles or McCallum

O'Hare, Godden or Walker

I suggested this a couple of weeks ago and was absolutely dumped on by the 'never play a player out of their normal position' brigade. By taking McCallum in the first place, it must have been in Robins' mind. Why drop the man who has offered the most attacking potential so far for Shippers or Allen.

We have a relatively young squad. There is absolutely no reason why we should not try and coach players to adopt to different positions. Football coaches have a duty to develop the players under them and progress them as proffessionals. Being adaptable to a couple of positions can prolong a career.

I would also say with our squad, depending on injuries, players are going to need to be adaptable and have a positive mindset.

A few lacklustre games in a foriegn position doesn't mean you can't play there. Fans need to remember they often judge a player based on their own brief, which might be entirely different to the managers brief.

Somwtimes a player has a bad game because the opposition has negated our tactics. Sometimes it is just because an individual has been exposed and overloaded, so a team fault rather than an individuals. But fans like to blame individuals.

You lot are seriously ducking mental just chucking players wherever. Did some of these team selections come from using a dartboard by any chance?

While we’re at it am I the only one that thinks Josh Pask could do a job up front?

I’d just like to bring this back to the top of the list and for all of you who battered me for suggesting Giles should play in midfield....

Shame for you he played on the wing (as everyone knew he could) 🙈
