Not sure how you can be confident when we're still having to take out loans despite our commercial revenue being the best its been in over a decade - not forgetting we likely have an instalment to pay for the EFL emergency loan we took out.
Most likely to go is Hamer, but with only a year left not likely to get a huge amount for him. Maybe enough to fund a replacement, maybe two, but think one of O'Hare and Vik could also be on the way out.
If we could get someone like Twine is as a replacement, I'd reluctantly let O'Hare go for upwards of £5m. Vik would be much harder to get a replacement for IMO.
I'm just hoping Sheaf remains enough under the radar to still be here next season.
Wow!! You saidWhat are you on about? Pushing arguments that are completely unrelated to my initial point just because the CEO lets you speak to him 5 minutes a month.
Embarrassing.
Sounds like if we sell it needs to be to SouthamptonChe Adams scored 22 and went for £15m and Armstrong scored something similar and went for the same amount so maybe I'm wrong.
I just have zero confidence in the board to negotiate those kind of deals.
Wow!! You said
Also as a CEO he probably has one of the worst career backgrounds in the entirety of the Championship and has zero experience of brokering deals of that kind.
I simply asked you to back up a claim with facts and evidence
You can say whatever you like but it’s hardly unrelated
I thought Adebayo was really good for Luton when we played them - he’s scored 1 more than Gyokeres this season. Having a look at the top scorers didn’t realise how far down he is
Brentford only paid about 6 million for Ivan Toney. Lets say we get 10-15 mill for Gyokeres. Should be able to pick up someone like Twine and Stewart from league one for 5-8 million for the pair.
Also the fact he has already put us on the back foot but openly putting a £5m price tag on the head of our players.
The best thing about Gyökeres is he has a bit of everything & with that is the potential to go a long way.
He's big, powerful, relatively quick, good control, good dribbler, works hard & is reasonable in the air.
He has areas to improve of course, particularly his finishing, his weaker left foot & his shot selection but, as Chris Wilder said a couple of weeks back, you won't find many better all around centre forwards at this level.
Didn't he just say that we've turned down significant bids, in a matchday programme? Happy to be corrected if i've missed something but if not, it's hardly hawking our best players for a fixed price to the tabloids.
I have to say, your posts have a whiff of Grendel about them.
Laughable!Again, refer to his CV and the unequivocal fact that he hasn't brokered deals of that kind before.
Also the fact he has already put us on the back foot but openly putting a £5m price tag on the head of our players.
It was quoted in the CT. They must've got it from somewhere
Laughable!
Who’s agreed the deals we’ve agreed with Gyok, Ohare and Hamer?
You hate him and I get it!
I think he’s done a pretty spectacular job given the parameters
Since we’ve moved back to CBS I’ve not met personally with him but obviously we have a seat on the supporters forum thatI do attend as vice chair so potentially another rep could attend on behalf of this on line board. I’ll check with colin Henderson the chair.
CET and accurate reporting - mmmm
If it wasn't true why not ask them to retract it if it was false?
Come off it he simply signs off on the signings he had zero influence in bringing Vik in. I doubt he did anything to convince O'Hare or others to stay either. Laughable you're giving him credit for things he deserves no credit for.
Spectacular job? Jesus Christ Pete he's done barely anything and who was it that moved us away from the CBS in the first place?
If he had zero influence on the signings why are you having him as having total influence over the players sold? He's either involved in transfers or he's not, so he either takes the credit/flak for all of them or none of them.
I didn't say it was false. Haven't read the piece (have you found the link?) My comment was about their accurate reporting (where i've previously spotted numerous errors - Clive Eakin style wrong teams etc)
Who does the negotiating on player contracts and offers? Do you know?Come off it he simply signs off on the signings he had zero influence in bringing Vik in. Who do you think negotiated with Wasps about returning?
You can’t blame someone for all the bad and give no credit for any of the good
That’s prejudice
I’m happy to agree the commercial aspects could improve enormously and that needs to be a priority to get staffing that supports the size the club is now
On your last point I think it exposes you. You are aware of the Pandemic the world has been having. Dinners? Really? As Pete says you don’t like Boddy. Badlan? You really think a scout does the negotiations?Doesn't Sandra Garlick do most of the player contracts? I highly doubt Boddy does the salary/bonus structure completely by himself either. Haven't got a clue who would take the lead with that. Badlan? Not that that's particularly difficult anyway as it will be largely dictated by player agents and what they consider is fair.
Well he cocked up the first set of negotiations so again I'm not really all for giving him credit for something that shouldn't have really happened in the first place.
What credit is there to give him? A few 'an evening with' dinners which he hasn't really bothered in picking up again? It's bizarre how you think he's doing a spectacular job when he's literally doing the bare basics.

if you want to know who does what at the club why don’t you ask them rather than make stuff up.
Yes but how has the revenue been affected playing away from 'home' it has certainly impacted us and Sisu are not just going to throw money at us until they recoup some first, so initially its catch up for them and to be brutally honest we are not yet ready for the prem as nice as it would be but we are ticking along nicely atm..Not sure how you can be confident when we're still having to take out loans despite our commercial revenue being the best its been in over a decade - not forgetting we likely have an instalment to pay for the EFL emergency loan we took out.
OMFG ...don't even joke about Gray leaving...there would be mass protestsHe's gone...as well as his brother Julian....
You're pretty wide of the mark with your speculation tbhDoesn't Sandra Garlick do most of the player contracts? I highly doubt Boddy does the salary/bonus structure completely by himself either. There is a budget for player's wages and the manager will decide which players he wants within that budget
Of course the paperwork will be handled by Boddy, Badlan and others in the club admin team
Tbh SBB the same situation will applyI'm not talking about incoming players. I'm well aware of the process. I was referring to contract negotiations of current players.
Others were making out that was solely conducted by Boddy.
