Why not? What’s not to like? He’s a totally different option to what we have, pace to burn and trickery. Proven goal scorer at this level. To have Simms, Wright and Thomas-Asante as forward options is a very healthy position to be in. You could even argue that it would give us the best forwards unit in the division..Really not sure on BTA.
Need a LB more than we need another CB or RB imo. Feel more comfortable with Eccles at RB if needed than I do with JDS at LB.Could the tides change on a LB later in the window? Really don't feel comfortable with Dasilva and Bidwell, not to slag off Bidwell
Me neither - my in laws are baggies and I live over here. My father In law just laughed and said you can have him.
He’s just quick - finishing is erratic at best
Agree.Really not sure on BTA.
Great bloke as well apparentlyAgree.
However on reflection, is he better option than Godden now, yes. Will he offer impact, yes. Will he be happy to be 2nd fiddle - guess so - that’s key.
would have liked someone with more growth - but more I’ve thought , more makes sense.
Agree.

You'd hope he'd be confident enough he thought he could push for a first team place.Agree.

Isn't that what an alternative is?I can see him as a alternative to Haji, but not so much Ellis as they have different strengths / games
Turner mentioned it being a quiet week, no?Assuming now this striker (BTA) is signing this week and maybe Dovin, we'll get one today or tomorrow? Sure the itks said it was definitely this week.
ITKs also said that Doyle had signed which clearly hasn’t happened.Assuming now this striker (BTA) is signing this week and maybe Dovin, we'll get one today or tomorrow? Sure the itks said it was definitely this week.
Absolutely. Just pointing out that its an alternative for one playerIsn't that what an alternative is?
It's a JH PromiseI hope that's a JH promise?
@Saddlebrains is it RB and CB or one or the other? If we sign Camara I can see us getting in an older head like McNair.
I imagine Simms shot conversion % was dragged down with his disappointing 2023 compared to an electric 2024.He has a better shot conversion rate than Simms and only scored 2 goals less in the Championship season.
If it’s true it gives us a different option up top over Simms and something different from the bench. For a 2nd/3rd choice striker I really don’t see us getting much better than that and he would be a massive upgrade on Godden.
As a bonus on the side he always seems to play very well playing against us.

Depending on how much we spend on him - I’d keep Godden. For the people turning their nose up at BTA, who would you rather sign who’s happy to come and be second choice? I think he’d be a great signing.

2m - 2.5 max - I’d have him, any more and id move on
BTA scores once every 4 games, Godden in the championship is 1 in just under 3 games.I’d genuinely rather lose Godden and have no back up than keep him. The guy doesn’t seem to want to be here and he’s so far past it at this level. I’d rather play Haji as ST and EMC on the wing if we have to rather than keep Godden.
The difference is BTA is 7 years younger, quicker, plays off the shoulder, good for stretching defences.BTA scores once every 4 games, Godden in the championship is 1 in just under 3 games.
we’re throwing stupid money away if we pay anymore than a couple of million for him, I’d rather have that Belgian guy for 1.2m
we need to replace Godden- But BTA isn’t the answer
Can’t see anyone coming in this week now
No it isn’t - but he just looks like a bit of a headless chicken. Like I said, if it’s a small amount - go for it.The difference is BTA is 7 years younger, quicker, plays off the shoulder, good for stretching defences.
As a backup looking at goalscoring record isnt the be all and end all.
Its way beyond what i expected, the suggestion of keeping Godden is among the worst i've seen.We aren't going get much better than BTA as a back up striker
What level of player do they think is going to come and sit behind Simms and potentially Wright? Its way beyond what i expected, the suggestion of keeping Godden is among the worst i've seen.
Well quite... Also i'm sure he'll fancy himself to push for starts which is preferable to bringing in someone who will be fully aware they have no chance. What level of player do they think is going to come and sit behind Simms and potentially Wright?
Seems pretty decent hereMe neither - my in laws are baggies and I live over here. My father In law just laughed and said you can have him.
