They should be binned off.

It's probably impossible (legally) but there should be mandatory relegation clauses in all players/managers contracts. All the clubs that are relegated now (possibly with the exception off the odd outlier like Luton) are able to generate the best part of £100M by selling 3 or four players, parachute payments should not be required.

A sensible system would see players signed whilst a club is in the PL automatically having clauses in their contracts, which cut their wages to a maximum cap upon relegation, with all players having a minimum sensible release clause to give them the opportunity to leave if they attract attention from elsewhere. Rather than just handing clubs a shit tonne of cash to continue playing PL wages in the Championship, and holding a ridiculous advantage over all other clubs.

Look at Burnley, they're about to sell Al-Dakhil now too (6m), on top of the others and even with Trafford maybe going, the amount they would have received from player sales alone is just silly. I don't know if they owe money to investors or still carry huge losses in previous years but still... how are other teams supposed to compete with that? It's seriously becoming just like society, the rich get richer and pull away and the rest of us haven't a chance to compete.

They made a £27m loss on a turnover of £123m in 21/22 when they were relegated from the PL.

In their accounts for y/e 22/23 they have bank loans of nearly £70m to repay at 11% interest and owed transfer fees of £100m.

They will have made a massive loss in their promotion season, would suspect at least £40m which is probably financed by more loans.

Bidwell and JDS are good enough. Infact Jay seems to be doing really well atm

Yes I was critical of him last season but looks better so far. The only thing when we have MVE, Lati & Dasilva on the pitch we are lacking in height in the backline.

Yeah no chance billing comes here unfortunately, surprised there’s not prem teams after him. Class act on his day but will be on big wages

Billing plays on the left wing predominately. Not sure it’s a hamer replacement however SU have the wages to attract him.

Not really kept track of Billing, did seem a real prospect when he first arrived in the UK. Nice bit of edge to him. Would love him here but think he's in that weird too good for the Champ not quite Prem level that I doubt we could afford

If Gus doesn’t get a move to the top flight by the end of this week that’s his last chance of a big move. Next summer he turns 28.

So maybe this is his last big pay day in terms of signing on fees etc and a pay rise.
