On the striker front there was recent poster mention a 25 year old and how we might be able to get the best out of him or something to that effect. Randomly I saw someone on twitter yesterday claiming to have heard something about Tyler Roberts from Birmingham. Was very highly thought of as a youth but hasn't really fulfilled his potential.

Anyone got any thoughts on Mikey Johnston? Had a good season last year and has a bit of experience without being too old, one of the few British players I’d consider tbf, just the £6 mil asking price that’s slightly steep?

Big chance for your redemption here GIMOC, if this comes off you’ll be able to whip out the old “I told all you fuckers, I told you!!” 😂

Will he? I mean it's a reasonable guess that a striker might sign before we report back for pre-season, given that we believe Godden wants out.
The bloke simply plays the odds. (without much luck as far as I can see)

If it’s definitely a striker then I’ll give him some credit, I’d say it’s not 100% likely we’ll get a striker in within a 5 day window, especially as our priorities seem to be more CM, RB, LB, GK atm.

You sign them as and when they become available, not in order of need.
Exactly, which makes GIMOC’s redemption more valid (if he’s correct) as he’s either very lucky or he’s somewhat in the know. Just for reference I’m not defending him, I’m just saying if we get a striker in the next few days then in my eyes he’ll be redeemed slightly.

I hope in all this we’re still looking to bring in a quality CM to partner Sheaf, feel like that is crucial along with a GK.

Yeah agreed, losing Stamenic was a big blow by the looks of it, he was the ideal midfielder that we needed, the likes of Eccles and Allen don’t cut it imo. I know Robins doesn’t seem to like playing 4-3-3 but if we ever need to then we need a strong midfielder to go alongside Sheaf + Torp/Eccles.

If they are after a backup striker I hope we go for a young raw lower league one that wants to prove himself. I dont want a journeyman to replace Godden. The last time I can remember that kind of player was when Steve Livingston used to come of the bench, we all got behind him because you new he would give it a real crack.

These "rumours" are starting to get irritating

Has Southgate coached every bit of creativity out of this side?? none of them play like this for their Clubs, so what has the twat done to them? Saka and Palmer take players on in the Prem and Foden is just like a lost child for England, not anything like he plays for Citeh.

I quite agree.

The midfield is just so ponderous and lacking any creativity.

I honestly think that the Sky Blues would create more chances and score more goals than England.

He seems to have coached the players to not take on opposition players 1 to 1, but just to pass the ball around slowly, which is low risk, but fecking boring as hell.

Why for a moment did I think this was referring to Sakamoto and Kasey Palmer. I’m getting so confused, will be glad when these Euros are over and the proper football begins in August!
