Ok I'm gonna say the unsayable... the problem is Kane. (And Southgate for wearing blinkers about him)

Is it Kane or is it Southgate ? If it's was me I'd say, I know, Harry Kane stay up front Don't come back into Midfield and as for Sake take the fullback on and get to the byline, stop coming inside, if not your dropped.

I agree in principle but bother players have built their careers on doing the things that the system no longer needs them to do ….

Good player depending on how much defending he'll have to do. Think MVE and Tats will ruin him though.
Personally happier if the player we have an option on is Kyprianou as rumoured. I'd have turned my attention there immediately after Stamenic started acting a c**t.

Kyprian-poo. Can’t take away a foreign international we’ve never heard of and replace him with someone from Peterborough. I won’t have it.

I could have sworn everyone was raving about Burrows only a week ago? Almost every comment on here was about how good he is, somehow there’s suddenly a massive sea-change now he’s gone to Sheffield.

I apparently don’t rate British players, as many of you have pointed out, but I think Burrows is alright, got time on his side, unlike Bidwell, and seems pretty aggressive going forward. It’s fine that we haven’t signed Burrows but I hope we get someone in soon that’s better than Bidwell, one injury, or a few tired performances, and we’re back to playing JDS which is just not good enough.

Plenty of level heads were pointing out that he is not renowned for his defensive ability.

I get your point people seem to flip flop but there were more than a few on here worried that we'd be left with two LBs who can't defend at the expense of Bidwell

If we Get Dovin and BTA In then we only really need a CM and one of CB or RB (Latibeaudiere can play both)

Would of course then expect to see Wilson and Godden go permanently, Tavares, Burroughs Howley out on loan. Would leave us with a squad of

GK - Dovin/Collins
RB - MVE/Latibeaudiere or RB
CB - Thomas /Latibeaudiere/CB
CB - Binks / Kitching
LB - Bidwell /DaSilva
CM - Sheaf /Torp
CM - Eccles /CM /Allen
RW - Sakamoto / Rodrigues
LW - Wright / EMC
CAM - Rudoni / Palmer
ST - Simms /BTA

As I say if we can get Dovin and BTA over the line, add the CM and defender of quality, we would have to massively underperform to jot be comfortable top 6 minimum no?

Could the tides change on a LB later in the window? Really don't feel comfortable with Dasilva and Bidwell, not to slag off Bidwell

That is genuinely a fantastic squad, I genuinely can’t believe the position we are in compared to the SISU days.

I wonder if we will look to bring in a CM of real quality on loan to add to the starting 11/rotation for Eccles/Torp.

Experience at CB

Marquee CM.

if left back arises so be it / would also still like better RW option. Doubt Aussie will be ready. But I’m being greedy.

Couldn’t agree more, I look at the LB spot and also the CM spot and just think it’s really not up to scratch. The “Eccles/Allen” combo all year does not fill me with confidence, where’s the creativity in that midfield? It’d basically be the same midfield as last year just with O’Hare swapped out for Rudoni, there’s obviously still time but I don’t see any improvement in midfield so far.

Give it time, surely 1 more in this week. If the following rumours are true...
Thomas-Asante
Dovin
Camara
We don't need too much after that and plenty of time to do it. CM, CB and possibly a LB.
Would like to see some of the dead wood starting to move on tbh.

Given the fact we were after Stemanic, I would imagine a top quality CM is probably the No1 priority.
