No only ITK but MI5 too
Pretty brave of the source to stick at it even with Dangerous Doug on their tail. Sounds very likely that he’d catch someone leaking all our transfer business to their mate so they can endlessly tweet about it and let them off with a slap on the wrist so it must be true.

Read it on the bladesman, on Ipswich fan pages, on the eflzone twitter which has over 80k followers, now seen it on FLW, somethings definitely happening with Gus 'plays first game of the season then f**ks off to another team' Hamer.

Blades fans will be in melt down, they've won the league after one game and one of the most important players in their squad is looking likely to leave oh and Ipswich want their best defender too

If I were manager of Ipswich, I would definitely be looking at a few Burnley players also

I think the bit about Phillips being #1 target is probably true for a few teams looking to bolster their midfield.

Obviously totally different player than Gus but they have to fit into budgets.

I reckon Hamer will be on the shortlist for a load of low end Prem teams, once things start moving he'll end up somewhere.

Much more confident Gus will move than I am about Vik.

I am struggling with the diagnosis of what we need really. Jamie Allen is a box to box midfielder, we don't need another one of him. We need a player that is comfortable receiving the ball under pressure, able to turn in either direction. Skills that both Hamer and O'Hare had.

Ideal world we would get a 1 for 1 Hamer clone but he is such a rare player.

Realistically we need a Sheaf back up. Someone comfortable breaking up play, being dominant but still able to pick a pass.

Players like Torp and Rudoni will look way better when Sheaf is back.

I take your point but I think there are better box to box midfielders than Allen and we should be looking at them if we are serious in our aspirations.

Same. I think we need some of the aggression and tenacity that Hamer had, but I don’t think we need a player who going to try as many risky passes as him - our forward line should be enough to make things happen.

Same with goals, I don’t think we need someone who scores as many goals as Hamer did - again our forwards should be doing their job! Obviously I wouldn’t say no to more goals though 😂

I think now the most important thing is someone who helps us retain possession in the final third when we’re putting teams under pressure. They have to be comfortable with the ball under pressure and look to play forwards still. And be positionally quite astute.

They are my list of demands anyway. Doug, get it done.

And able to have an array of quality passing short and long

Can we please stop with the inane Hamer ramblings . Does anyone on here seriously think that we haven't tried to recruit a similar player, honestly?

Hamer was a fantastic talent one who got better and better the longer he was here but also a player who changed his style of play too. He started as a deep lying playmaker but ended up being a box to box dynamic midfielder.

Finding another player to emulate Hamer is going to prove incredibly difficult if not impossible

Let's move on
Very respectful of your posts generally but I really struggle with this rationale. It's like Southgate learning Kane was injured for the euros and going 'we don't have a similar player... so we we are just going to go with a 22 man squad.'

I think we all get that he is impossible to replace like for like but just going with what we had beforehand is a huge cop out.

The role of the local reporter is to ask the questions the fans want asking. It’s the role of the clubs comms team to ask the easier ones.

Robins will never answer specifics on target players or positions but he’s normally pretty good at the broader stuff on whether he still has positions he hopes to strengthen this window, whether he expects to see any transfers out, to what extent as the end of window gets closer does he worry about having the time to replace players like Sheaf, MVE etc. if a big offer comes in for them ?

While that is part of their job they also want to get the most information they can in their time. Robins has repeatedly, especially this summer, said he wont make any comment on transfers so there really is no point asking him.

I have often thought one good thing if we were to make the Premier League is that we'll have different national journalists in to ask some of the questions. They won't give a shit if he's uncomfortable or unwilling to answer on transfers. We might also actually get public timescales on injuries
