Don’t mind me just going to look at Barnsley’s squad for a right backI've put it on there mate, Right back understudy
We are seemingly looking for some L1 and L2 gems for that position to develop under Milan
That's a bit shite. It's players for the Prem we will need.Far as I'm aware the championship shopping list is

What are you on about? MVE has shown himself perfectly capable and just needs a backup. That's great, but how is another RB not on that list? They can't seriously think we'd be fine having to play the likes of Lati there for an extended period can they? Or do they think one of the youngsters like Batanwi or Sandiford may be ready to be back up next year?
If not then they're playing a dangerous game and risk burning MvE out and him going the way of Dabo.
Probably won't get another chance for another generation and they've completely fucked it up. Must be gutting to be a Luton fan.Speaking of, I didn't realise how little Luton have actually spent since going up. Using figs from transfermarkt:
23/24 | Spent: £21.7m | Received: £0.3m
24/25 | Spent: £26.2m | Received: £20.1m
Total Spent: £47.9m
Total Received: £20.4m
Net Spend: £27.5m
Would hope we'd be a bit more ambitious than that.
Straight back down with record low points then.If we made prem I would keep for sure
Dovin
Thomas
Kitching
Mve
Grimes
Rudoni
Torp
Emc
Wright
And for depth: Saka, Simms, Basette(potential)
The rest I imagine we would be trying to sell and looking for upgrades
Couple of ways you can look at it.Speaking of, I didn't realise how little Luton have actually spent since going up. Using figs from transfermarkt:

I understand there is an agreement that the losing team in the playoff final keeps all the gate receipts as a booby prize. The way the media describes the reward for winning the playoffs (richest game in football etc) can be misleading.
There's no special financial reward for winning the playoffs. The auto spots give out more prize money (although believe the actual playoff matches may earn you a fair amount in terms of ticket sales). The playoff final is just described that way due to the difference between winning and losing a one off game.
Why? 12 new signings to be added to thatStraight back down with record low points then.
The most successful teams in the PL for the supposed quality of their players are Bournemouth and Forest. They are teams that get the ball forward fast rather than the Man City possession model.Don’t mind what Ipswich have done but was all a bit unimaginative, signing the best championship players. They look well set now and will cash in on Delap and make a nice profit.
Not sure if there’s opportunity to be a bit smarter, sign PL experience and some European wildcards.
Thought Kieran Maguire on the Cov Pod was interesting. Teams like Brighton, Brentford - played pretty hideous football, stunk the place out for a couple of years, and then started improving.
We have a minimum half a team good enough to compete with staying up being the aim. But they would have to stay fit. The pull of playing for Lampard could bring a bit more quality in.Assuming Ipswich go down, if they sell Delap and maybe one or two more, they come back into the championship with a better squad than they had in 23/24 and no real PSR worries. Kieran McKenna has done a great job to keep them competitive for most of the season.
If we went up. Dovin, MVE, Grimes, Wright and maybe Rudoni are the definite starters.
Thomas, Sheaf, Torp and EMC could get game time. As could Tats. I wouldn’t underestimate the effect of VAR for him. I think it would make him much less likely to get clobbered (or punched).
I like Kitching and rate him as a Championship defender but I think he’d be too untidy in the PL and get exposed.
If we stay down, it’s nice to think about a good CB who’s got a bit of pace but the combination of speed and solidity is highly prized and we’d get outbid by those with bigger budgets unless we get lucky with amazing scouting.
36 points? The bottom 3 sides only have 43 points between them with 9 games to goPremiership survival is all about getting points against those other bottom teams. Look at the other teams likely to be in the bottom half and concentrate on getting wins at home and draws away against them giving you 36 points. The matches against the top teams are a free hit. blood youngsters and rest your key players against the bigger teams and year and year gradually increase the teams you want to focus on getting results against. Ultimately 17th is all you need in the Premiership
Teams in the bottom 3 don't survive tbf36 points? The bottom 3 sides only have 43 points between them with 9 games to go
Kayne Ramsay from Charlton would fit that mould if they don’t get promoted, similar rise up the leagues to EMC. Can play RCB RB and RWB and is getting shouts for their player of the season.I've put it on there mate, Right back understudy

Correct. But you don't need 36 points to be safe the vast majority of the time. 36 points is the average points that 17th place gets.Teams in the bottom 3 don't survive tbf

Luton were putting the premier league money and 3 years of parachute payments towards their new stadium apparently. So it looks like they accepted relegation would probably happen before a ball was kicked.Speaking of, I didn't realise how little Luton have actually spent since going up. I would love the LB to be Doyle, if we are talking to them, then presumably they are either out of contract or on loan and we can discuss with the parent club. although I suspect 80%+ of transfers are all done behind the backs of the owning club.Winger is a surprise albeit I am presuming it is competition for Sakamoto?
If we went up this is who I’d like us to sign:
RB - Ethan Laird (backup Milan)
CB - Trevoh Chalobah (marquee signing)
CB - Cameron Carter-Vickers
LB - Nathaniel Brown (MvE on the left)
CM - Shea Charles (Grimes understudy)
RW - Ritsu Doan (another Japanese Technician)
LW - Mathias Kvistgaarden (cheeky punt)
Charles perm, as Southampton going down and it was punt but you did get a chuckle out of meFeel like I'm reading an email from Dean to Doug.
Too well researched and thought out for us lot.
You saying Charles on loan?
bit harsh to call the last one a cheeky c*nt, no?
We have a cat called KwameSo based on Saddles list. This is who I would target if in the championship next season.
Owen Peck (Liverpool) LB
Harry Darling (Free) CB
Brodie Spencer (Huddersfield). Back up RB
Kwame Poku (Compensation) RW
Can your cat also play on the wing?We have a cat called Kwame
this is why we should looking overseas, someone like Beck will be massively overpriced. So based on Saddles list. This is who I would target if in the championship next season.

Think Owen and Spencer would cost a fair bit but Owen is ooc next year so Liverpool might be open to sell. Spencer has done well this year and at his age has a lot of time to develop further.
Darling seems a no brainer on a free for how we want to play out the back and is a threat from set pieces.
Similarly with Poku, seems a no brainer but will be a lot of interest.
We've done very well with our overseas signings recently, you'd think at least a couple of them will be.this is why we should looking overseas, someone like Beck will be massively overpriced.
