We’ll revisit this later in the season but just watch how many shots he parries back into the danger area that should’ve been parried clear of danger or even caught.

It’s gone under the radar because of poor finishing from the opposition but that shouldn’t make the mistake moot.

I actually agree with you.

Wilson and Eccles are free game, but say something about Collins or Sheaf and it is outrage.

I think it was only right that Collins got his chance, as Wilson's form was becoming pretty poor, but the addition of Collins came around the time we changed formation. Not to try and take anything away, but we've been a lot more solid defensively since. For the last couple of games though, Collins has looked a bit suspect to me.

Have to agree with this...can't say he looks much of an upgrade save-wise (if at all).
His kicking is a worry though.
At least once every match, he miskicks a pass straight to an opposition striker/attacking midfielder.
We haven't been punished for one of theses miskicks YET.

Firstly a fantastic win but bloody hell we made it hard for ourselves at times keep giving the ball away, it just wasn't sticking up front and kept pinging back putting us under the cosh and then 2 goals from almost nowhere and that was the end of it brilliant. Almost all our players had dodgy moments at times but we kept going and it seems Robins was absolutely right when he said we were work in progress and the majority on here including myself couldn't see it but for me Robins 3 Scumderland 0, he really is doing a superb job of managing our team !!

Collins is superior to Wilson, I cant see how anybody cant see that

We've conceded 4 goals in 8 games , he's made several very decent saves .. yesterday his distribution was poor sure bit atleast its not every single match like Wilson, he helps get us up the pitch much better generally than Wilson .

Sorry but it's a big upgrade

Some fans just miss Wilsons personality I'm sure .

He's better in every way. He looks a good signing and clearly is another one that should have been in from the start.

Don't think we'll see Wilson again unless there's an injury to Collins.

We seem to have this weird thing in recent years where we find a keeper who seems to be the answer only for them to turn to shit after a season or so.
Marosi, Moore, Wilson. Granted Marosi's downturn came after an injury

Main issue is we always signed long term reserve keepers , they were that for a reason

I liked Marosi, he was very good in our title winning season. Never the same after those dirty Welsh bastards did him over.

He’s not jumped out the way of a shot yet, which is an improvement.

You've got to be completely batshit or a member of the Wilson family to think we look better with Wilson in the team.

Agree with other knowledgeable people on here about Thomas and Kitching. They are becoming a great partnership at the back, love it when one or the other drives forward.
Not convinced on Collins, really stupid to pick up two yellows in two games for time wasting, made a few saves, but that Clarke save in the first 10 mins was not good and could have cost us.

It seems Robins doesn’t agree with you.

Wilson got so many for that he almost got a suspension last season

O’Hare is just immense. He influences the urgency to the whole team.

Hate to leave any negative after a 3-0 away win but Collins is a liability. I’ve said it since he came in but he parries every shot straight back into the oppo’s striker. It’s bizarre. Hes made more mistakes in the few games he’s played for us than Wilson has in his whole time with us. Only negative of an unbelievably brilliant day
Kicking I agree, its not a mistake to not let the goal in from a save
How many did he parry in this game?
5 clean sheets in 8 and 4 goals you’re having a laugh
Did you see our third goal? That’s an error

Lati was so much more secure when he came on in midfield
3-0 though

The two keepers seem about on a par to me, both 'OK' for the Championship. Collins isn't playing any better now than Wilson did last year, but Wilson's bad mistakes earlier this season rightly saw him replaced. Collins is keeping pretty well atm and is clearly first choice now, but it's true that he seems to get away with a lot of parrying, and I really can't see the supposed gulf between the two in terms of distribution.

It isn't or at least shouldn't be Wright's responsibility to get back and defend.
When I last watch it it was. It's a TEAM game defenders score goals.Strikers clear shots of the line.Your there to try and win .My gripe is the way Wright faces up for goal kicks and free kicks. He stands marking space neither wing back or player playing forward of him .He is obviously told by MR to stand there but when the ball is played on that side of the pitch those 2 player just play round him easily.

Maybe I’m being harsh Pete and maybe it’s because I’ve noticed it early so now it feels more annoying every time he does it but Im sure if their striker scores here as he should do then I wouldn’t be the only one saying it’s a problem in his game. AF6BA8D4-A34F-4AAC-BEE3-62C5BC6DF464.gif

If you watch the initial shot in real time the power on it was pretty brutal

Too low to tip over , too central on to parry wide , to fast to catch

Yeah fair play. I don’t know why I’m digging Collins out anyway after such a great team performance from everyone else. I just hope the keeping staff work on him parrying to the side before it finally costs us.

I don't actually think it was a great performance by anybody tbh , I spent most of the match deeply frustrated with how much we gave the ball away and allowed them to walk through us ... was only when we went 3 up that I relaxed a bit , as did the team

You’re not wrong but I think it only happened once yesterday

Yeah but it’s been every game (I posted the below after Leeds). Hopefully this was the last one and the staff will train it out of him.

Fair play to Simms. Stood up today and lead the line very well.

Controversial here but I just don’t feel safe with Collins’ handling. He parries EVERYTHING and a lot of the time straight back into a dangerous area. Don’t really get the love in there.

Other than that, a really good solid team performance and a great point. Perfect game plan from MR

Unfortunately missed most of this game (cry) due to “Christmas shit” but I’m just wondering what happened to Sheaf for him to come off at 42 mins? Did Lati play at CM instead of Sheaf when he came on? Was he any good? Just thought Lati may be a good Sheaf replacement for when we need him but just wondering how he got on.

Good movement, hold up play. Has shown he can finish. Describing him as not looking like a footballer just makes you look like an utterly clueless clown.

I’m afraid if you think he’s shown he can finish it’s you that is clueless. I sincerely hope you are right but I have my doubts. To qualify the not looking like a footballer I mean in the way he does things - nothing looks natural - passing, dribbling, shooting. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

At this level no goalkeepers are really that good/consistent. One of the best is probably Patterson for Sunderland... And I'm sure there would be a meltdown on here if Wilson or Collins had let that 3rd goal in.
