Agreed

But Robins for some reason isn't doing that

Playing 3 5 2 and Lati Thomas Kitching as the back 3 the last proper game before Stoke has absolutely thrown me

Yes I know it's pre season but fuck me, what's he doing??
That's bizarre

Lati definitely has pictures of Robins doing something he shouldn't.

Off the back of Tuesday I'd hazard a guess we made over 100K.

Darmstadt was a waste of time, money and effort

Even the players were like 'what the fuck are we doing this for?'
I guess its to raise the profile of the club to an extent but I will give Doug a bye after the aquisition of our new striker this week

I think we’ll play a second string against Bristol and this will be a warm up for that. No other midweek games until October so plenty of time for recovery.

352 is the best way to utilise JDS. Tats, Burroughs, MVE, Eccles have all had experience playing RWB so gives us an option if MVE ever gets injured. Means we can play BTA and Simms together. Rudoni Sheaf Torp Eccles Allen can all play in a midfield 3. Allows us to play our 3 Cb we have played money for. The defence may look solid in a 3 with a keeper who’s half decent in net.

I can understand it to be honest, not sure at the outrage

This is my thoughts

Can't even consider 3 5 2 when you've got Tats Wright EMC Rodrigues for the wings

Rudoni doesn't fit into that either

I know it's a friendly but it literally makes zero sense for him to even try it
We don't actually know yet that's what the formation is. You have retired from being ITK after all

For some reason, and I have no idea why considering it's the last proper friendly.......

He's playing wing backs 😳😳😳😳

Can only assume it's to see if Simms and BTA work well together and ensure minutes go into the legs of everyone

But I sincerely hope its just to try it as we are fucking shite in that setup

Hopefully this is your new (?) source’s Billy Gilmour moment!

Or it’s a ‘Saddlebrains Investigates’ situation.

Either way, I hope it’s not true. I missed Everton and I was really looking forward to us playing attacking football today!

Could be 343?

I felt we were too open on the counter on Tuesday night, thankfully Everton were too shite to punish us. It was often our two centre halves dealing with 3 or 4 of them streaming forward.

Sacrificing a midfielder for an extra body at the back might be worth trying.

With the first choice players available you could play:

Thomas Kitching Binks

MVE Sheaf Rudoni Bidwell/Dasilva

Sakamoto Simms Wright/EMC

Ah now this is interesting. We all know Robins loves a three, particularly in tough looking games. A lot of people saying we need another CB - for me that has only been a 'need' if Robins wants the tactical flexibility to switch to a 3.

Yeah I’m very confused. They just put a side out with their ‘b’ team and then have replied to someone saying that they’re letting 2 11s have 90 minutes

Maybe this is for the first game then? 🤔

JDS shouldn't be anywhere near the starting lineup. We desperately need to strengthen at LB / LWB.

What's the point in this earlier game? Is it just a run out for the younger players from both teams?

Just wait and see how it goes FFS. If MR wants a squad that can effectively move between systems during a game, I'm into it.
I agree, but the wing back system emphatically does not work. Variations on a 4-4-2 however would certainly be worth trying out
