No it was just funny how we heard he's the best striker of a ball at the club yet he contradicted it immediately after. Then Walker gets one chance all game and puts it away.

He isn't the answer to our difficulties. He's there because we couldn't move him on and we have nobody else-Baka seems to be in the bomb squad for other reasons. I don't think anyone in the side gets more leeway than him, genuinely. The likes of Hilssner have been pounced on pretty mercilessly for the crime of having asthma, while the boo boys were also after McF after he'd been our most consistent CB in the first half dozen or so games.

And yes, Walker’s goal was a tidy finish. Let’s see how many shots he needs to score over a season as opposed to one shot though, that’s the point (and I’m as certain as you that Walker will). People are saying “Walker had one shot and scored therefore he’s better than Biamou”. When Walker has had the same opportunities as Max, and scored a higher proportion — then we can compare them (in terms of goal scoring).

Again, I’m not saying he’s the answer, is a great player or even is better than Baka (can’t decide, but for me Max is more effective than Baka at present, admittedly with less potential for improvement), what I am saying is let’s use the same metrics to compare them.

A bit disingenuous to use time (half a season) as a measure of Biamou’s effectiveness when he hardly plays, yet when people trot out the minutes per goal stats someone always counters it with some “stats are bullshit” statement. And yet you’ve just used a totally meaningless stat to make your point. The fact is he’s scored 1 in 3 over his career at Coventry. That’s not a bad return really. Is it?

As for players "Don't give a fuck what we post" has been totally disproven if you follow football across the country. Mental Health is a big issue in all sports and society.

Criticism is a fact of life for a pro player of any sport. They have to learn to live with it. As long as it’s not racist sexist or of a personal level it’s acceptable, they accept all the plaudits when they do well, so the criticism is justified when it’s dserved.
As far as knocking their confidence, I’m afraid they will just have to toughen up a little if they intend to survive in the men’s game.

Biamou’s best season for us was in league 2, when he scored 5 league goals in 40 appearances. Now take a second to take that in. 5 league goals in 40 appearances. What in those figures suggests he’s got the talent to score goals at championship level.
I’m not knocking his effort or commitment, which is not being questioned, I’m talking about a player who is simply above his level.

We could look at quite a few of his other efforts if you like. My comment was more it’s unfortunate timing for him to miss sitters and put shots into orbit right after you’ve said he’s one of the best at the club. You can point to the selection of screamers no doubt

I’ve nothing personal against Max, I’ve simply pointed out that he’s not up to championship level. That’s not his fault, it’s just that we’ve been promoted twice in three years, but we’ve not had the budget to make the wholesale changes required to compete at this level.

I have had difficulty pointing this fact out to 1 or 2 forum members who seem to think that Max is somehow above any negative comments, and seem to want to rush to his defence at every opportunity. In fairness Danny, as I said earlier in the thread, Biamou's tame header straight at Foster is his only shot on target so far this season.

Look Biamou is a limited footballer thats playing for us, we can all accxept that, its not his fault that the club decided to get him and develop him (although he didn't have to sign I guess), it also wasn't his fault he picked up a career threatening injury thats halted any late development he may or may not have but one thing that cannot be denied, love him or hate him, is that he gives his all, limited as it may be and actually has shown us we could do with another player of his ilk but obviously better quality BUT for the time being thats all we have because Baka is not taking up the many chances that are being offered to him!!
