Assessing a newspaper's "ban" from pre-match press conferences, Sky Blues manager Tony Mowbray says the Coventry Telegraph "took a decison" to call for the club's owners to sell up and are "facing the consequences of that".

The Telegraph says its reporters have been told they won't be granted access to management or players while the campaign continues.

"What do the Telegraph expect after running a headline like that?" Mowbray told us.

Nothing short of shameful the number of people who seem to think it's fine or understandable for SISU, or any owners, to ban the press because they don't like something they wrote. I'd expect people to be fine with it in China or Russia maybe, but not here.

Fuck off you nobhead. that's your answer to anyone that posts anything anti-SISU I don't hate CCFC.
straight into the abuse eh?! Must have touched a nerve!
It's not my answer to anyone who posts anything anti sisu, most of my posts today have been anti sisu.
But most people can differentiate between the two. That's why the chant love city. hate sisu is sung at games.
But you said sisu and ccfc are the same and you hate sisu, therefore you must hate CCFC.
Even you should be able to get the jist of that!

Bloody hell, his answer didn't deserve that. He just gave you his honest opinion. Just step back from the keyboard for a minute and calm.

He always accuses posters of hating CCFC if anything anti-SISU is mentioned. How fucking old is he 10?

Even you should know that if SISU went bust so would the Football Club. Why is that?

no I don't, you're making it up!
Let me re-iterate, I have posted several anti sisu comments today, I hate sisu, but I don't hate CCFC because I don't see them as the same thing.
You can't have it both ways, if you do see them as the same thing and hate sisu you must hate CCFC - why is it so hard to grasp?

to be honest it's not fair that he's put in that position, he should be discussing the game nothing more.

People were saying CWR should demand all sorts of answers at the press conference, dont think they understand its just TM and a player there.

Mowbray, frankly, should fuck off with that.

I'm sure his future press conferences will be great, when whichever intern is running the CCFC Twitter account that week asks him what his favourite colour is again.

which is why I think sisu have fucked up with the ban, TM and the players have got enough on their plate without getting involved in this nonsense.

I think the whole thought that none of it will effect the club is also naive in certain ways is also a bit naive. The same as Pressley got pissed off before.

because they are the owners, they're not the same thing. I own my house, but if I sell it tomorrow, it's nothing to do with me anymore.
If your opinion is they're the same fair enough, but that means you hate the club.

Maybe people got annoyed because they are seeing how happy the telegraph seem to be about it now they have been giving the all go from somewhere.

Egos and attitudes are certainly rising with all of the attention they are getting, certainly not acting like they think the club is about to die.

Humour me then Nick... What happens if SISU went bust?
We're owned by Otium technically aren't we? So assuming SISU own Otium then that company would be sold by the administrator / liquidator. The FL would then have decide if a point penalty applied for an insolvency event. I would say they would rule SISU do not exist solely as a vehicle for ownership of CCFC so no points penalty.

When's the 5 things we didn't learn from Mowbray's press conference as they won't let us in article going up?

1. The gate to the training ground has a good lock
2. The gate to the training ground is high
3. The signal outside the training ground is pretty good
4.
5.

It's weird that they went there knowing they weren't allowed in to make it dramatic as if he was rejected at the gate

Do you think Simon was standing there alone crying into the pages of his new book (available in all good book stores - and some bad ones too)

Otium is CCFC in effect. Basically they own the branding, trade mark. You could argue that the CCFC history was vested in CCFC Ltd and CCFC H Ltd but its all academic.

SISU do not own Otium as far as we know. They are the managing agents of Sconset, an investment fund, that owns the shares in SBS&L (along with Brody) which owns OEG along with ARVO. Although technically SISU have to have a minority interest in the fund that minority interest does not really affect the value of the fund. So if SISU went bust their minority interest would have to be disposed of but Sconset would still exist but would need to appoint new managing agents. No change in CCFC ownership and no material insolvency event affecting ownership - no penalty and no taking back of the golden share. At least that's the way it seems to me. That of course assumes Sconset is substantially more than just investment in "CCFC" and that someone would want to take it on. The problem comes if Sconset is would up for some reason

All the way through the group structure directly affecting CCFC and in deed the SISU Capital group there are little but important barriers that deflect risk losing control, and transparency

I think the fact Mowbray is having to talk about it shows it will be having an effect on the football side

What else were they going to do for a story?

So many editorial experts on this forum, it's crazy. Must be half a dozen Pulitzer winners on here, going by all the criticism that comes the way of the CT/Observer.

A story? You say that as if singular?

Also must be on a bonus on how many times they can reference Jimmy hill in every article.

I see 'the book' is being published by Pitch Publishing Ltd. According to it's website this fine sports publisher invites submissions from aspiring authors.

Other unmissible works published by Pitch Publishing include:

'Saints and Sinners - Southampton's Hard Men',
'From Oblivion to Hampden - Hibs Heroes of 1991' and
'Gus Honeybun... Your Boys Took One Hell of a Beating - A Love Affair in the Lower Leagues'.

I hope Simon's got somewhere to store the unsold copies.

I've no idea what you're banging on about, but criticizing a newspaper for trying to make a story dramatic is like having a go at a chef for trying to make their food look nice.
