Not sure why a couple of people on here are so desperate to defend the CT. They clearly have an agenda. This was one throwaway comment not the proverbial 'smoking gun', if you want that look more to their point blank refusal to feature the legacy fund.

What app are you referring to?
The BBC shows this:
View attachment 5977
CT shows this:
View attachment 5978
I would say those two graphical representations give a different impression of the cost of a programme at CCFC compared to others.

The raw data listed by the BBC on their website is correct. You can of course interpret things in different ways. For example:

City top the League One charts for the most expensive programmes
City charge the same for a programme as all but one League One club.

Both correct and in line with the raw data but would you say both give the same impression to the reader?

So is the article as a whole a good example of the CET spinning against the club?
Or did you pick out one line and make it seem that way. When actually when you read the article they clearly are not.
You are right there is possibly an agenda here.
Either you are incredibly paranoid and one sighted in this example.
Or you have an agenda against the CET.
Surely with them stating they want new owners you have enough ammo. Without resulting to this rubbish?

I can tell there's a seething desire for people on here to catch the CT red-handed in some sort of elaborate propaganda campaign against the club. But I don't think this article is going to be the smoking gun you're looking for guys.

If the true, sole aim of that article was to continue the glorious mission of bringing down SISU, any of us would be able to do a better job of spinning the BBC's numbers, compared to that rather pedestrian article and graphic.

Exactly

Nobody has said it's a smoking gun.

So why have we been talking about it for a few pages?

So for people to talk about it, it means it's a smoking gun?

I'd say refusing to promote the legacy fund and then deciding to use it to sell a few books is a bit worse anyway.

Well clearly there are plenty of people who think it's indicative of an anti-club conspiracy. I just think you're getting worked up over nothing.

Strange, not worked up.

Nobody has said it is this 1 individual article and nobody has said conspiracy. Only you and Tony have said that.

Can we delete these last few pages of painful amateur media criticism then?

I guess you can't believe headlines. Take the thread title for instance "Telegraph Spin" apparently not about the telegraph spinning stories given that there is no conspiracy. Maybe all these articles are being picked over by yourself to prove that there is no spin and therefore no conspiracy. I've clearly got the wrong end of your motives.

Yes, look at the start of the thread. That was clearly things that weren't factual and made up.

Only you keep banging on about conspiracy?

Strange how they won't promote the Legacy fund in the telegraph and Simon is using it to sell a few books isn't it?

Strange how the Telegraph see the council as one of their biggest stakeholders.

Still, nobody has mentioned conspiracy apart from you.

It was pointing out it was misleading, there was 1 example of somebody reading it like that and then Dongo backed it up by also believing it.

Are you sure you aren't Simon in disguise? He keeps saying about that when i mention the Tifosy stuff.

Can you show me anything on there about the tifosy campaign part of it? You know where you can buy a signed ball etc? You know, the one they have said they won't feature? The one where I have asked a few times if they can do an article?

I seem to remember offering to buy a signed ball, then donate it to the JSBs to re-use if Simon or somebody else can do a little part about it to make people aware. It got rejected.

It isn't spin, it's fact.

I didn't believe it I believed Dave's analysis of it because he was bang on the money.
I merely quoted that they made one line saying shirts and matchday programs were more expensive. You misunderstood me that I believed it as did Grendel, as
I have already pointed out you. However you can ignore that if you want like ignoring most of the article which wasn't attacking the club.

No one needs to mensioned conspiracy though do they Nick.
How many threads are there on this site started by the same people all on what the telegraph are apparently lying about?
Now that really is strange.
You even blame the telegraph because supporters can't be bothered to back The Jimmy Hill fund.

I haven't blamed them for that. Why do you persist in making shit up? I said it is out of order they won't bother to give it a nudge and flat out refuse.

Even more so that it then gets used to try to sell a few books.

Just because you refrain from mentioning the 'C' word it doesn't mean you're not looking for one.

Mrs. Birtwhistle is 100 next week and her cul de sac is being closed in order to hold a street party.

That will affect 7 families, so half of the CT's readership.
