In some respects it’s quite a good tactic. The longer he’s PM the more he falls on his sword. The worst possible scenario is call an election now and end up stuck with him for a full fixed term lying his heart out and fucking the country over because it was too early for those still wearing blinkers to take them off.

Not to mention that the SI system is a work of genius and makes any form of science or engineering easier, quicker, more efficient and is more intuitive as it’s in base 10.

Plus if you get your conversions wrong or different teams are working in different units without realising you tend to crash multimillion pound space ships, go America.

I think this strategy will spectacularly backfire, especially in Labour leave voting areas.

Expect more Labour heartlands to disappear.

It happened in Glasgow. Completely wiped out.

Been a gas listening to supporters of 'New Labour' trying to explain why Glasgow went SNP.

To put it simply, this is what happens when you don't listen to your core vote and take for granted that they will vote for you.

That depends on whether labour has hit the bottom of the cycle for losing votes over Brexit. I suspect it has and Carry on Boris for a longer period before a GE is called I would think is a vote winner for all parties. It’s then up to the individual parties to deliver a votable, costed, sensible manifesto and sell it.

Of course they have no idea what "remain" actually means other than everything remaining the same. We, on the other hand want to bring back hanging, world war, hanging , blue passports, hanging, dunces caps, hanging, shillings and pence, incandescent lighbulbs, fence panels measured by the foot, shops closing on Sundays, abolition of women's right, bring back the birch, opening the coal mines, corporal punishment , love they neighbour, 3 day week, woodbines, bus conductors, the GPO, gas board, National Front, Stars on Sunday, abolition of recycling, oh and a bit of hanging.
They're out of touch with reality.

It’s funny you mention bus conductors. Did you know that when mayor Boris insisted that the new route master bus was redesigned at a cost of millions to the London taxpayers insisting that it must have a back door so conductors could be retained. And then he made all the bus conductors redundant. I’m not even making it up.

Us and Denmark has already vetoed out of ever committing to ever joining the Euro so you’re pissing in the wind with at least one of your assumptions.

I'd bring back all those old buses we had where you'd jump on at the back at any point of the journey at the risk of falling off or getting away without paying at all.

It isn't an assumption it is a fact...from the EU's own stated Goals..."establish an economic and monetary union whose currency is the euro"

So in effect, everything you (& many other) remainers have levelled at leavers not knowing what they were voting for is actually true of yourself.

Which we along with Denmark had vetoed from. You can try and rewrite the meaning of the word veto all you like but it doesn’t change the facts.

The flag is actually the Council of Europe’s flag. Something that was Winston Churchill’s idea and indeed we founded along with the other original members. The flag dates back to the 50’s.

The anthem was written by Beethoven originally and is almost 200 years old.

I’ve not denied it. Merely pointed out that we’ve vetoed it. Pointing out that we’ve vetoed it is in itself a recognition of it’s existence. Really not sure how you claim I’ve denied anything. Unlike yourself.

Difference is, SNP are aligned in a number of policy areas to appeal. Not so sure with the Tories!

I think Tory tanks will be well on Labour lawns looking at the policy announcements Cummings has made so far. People have short memories and a penchant for retail politics. I don’t think they’ll win as many as some expect, and they’ll lose a load in the south, but I’m worried unless something drastic happens between now and a GE.

But the EU also has a system where members get vetos and as a large member we never get forced into anything we don’t want, even big stuff like Shengen and the Euro. The reality is if we stay we have a great deal that means we wouldn’t be forced to do anything we don’t want to.

Just because something is a goal doesn’t mean they’re about come send the brown shirts to take your pint glasses, it just means that where possible they want closer union. There’s nothing about doing it without member state consent. If it genuinely gets too much there’s always A50 as we’ve shown, though I’m not sure how you could make the case the EU have been overbearing enough to justify it in our case.
