Had we remained, it was a leap into the dark there too. EU leaders may have taken it as a mandate for them to exert pressurise the UK to ditch the pound, joint armed forces and much more - whether any of those would be/have been good for the UK is also anyone's guess.

What nonsense.
Easy to say when there is no chance of it happening now. At least for the forseeable future. What nonsense.
Wee were assured there would be no eu armed forces - lie wasn't it?
We were assured by leading leave campaigners that no was suggesting leaving the single market and that Turkey was on the verge of joining the EU.
Never understood all of the ager against the idea of an EU army personally. Then again, I'm from a family of migrants, so what do I know?
Well no because both results show how gullible and moronic the "youth vote" is.
On the one hand they cry and express anger and disgust at leaving the EU (without a single coherent argument why) and on the other hand see an elderly, socialist eu despising dinasaur as the bright future.
You can't legislate for stupidity and ignorance. In the end though they will be protected as the more sensible element of society still managed to come through.
Let's deal with one issue at a time. Eu army lie or no lie?

The EU are Federally biased. They will manipulate any way they can to enuresis everyone is in the Euro & want full control over EU member states' foreign policy.
I voted remain - but things such as that were huge considerations for me...they don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Nah! Europeans have a history of cow-towing & non-invasive activity. That's what helped Nazi-Germany gain momentum imo.The EU need a common foreign policy. The first EU foreign minister equivalent was British anyway. The EU is/ waS not a foreign body. We were part of it. So if there was manipulation- we were involved in some way.

Had Europe united against Nazi-Germany then maybe ww2 would not have happened. Even now non-nazi-Germany to a certain extent dictates EU policy. That's generally not good - unless you are German/living in Germany.

Mmmm...on Germany's terms I suspectBritain was a major player and could have dominated the EU with France, Italy and Germany. Following your argument, it would have been better if Britain had stayed. Germany is more dominant now.

The hunt for an EU armyLet's deal with one issue at a time. Eu army lie or no lie?
Your arrogance knows no bounds.

Just to let you know that I got a personal reply from an email that I sent to Guy Verhofstadt, albeit it 6 months later!
I was surprising as I thought all the EU cared about was money?
Well that's the first one dealt with.
Well that's the first one dealt with. What's next ? Open borders? Forced joining if the Euro? Albanian membership?
As usual, distorted facts to wind the public up. Now Farage is asking youngsters to see the film Dunkirk. Turning the clock back to a mythical past.
Yes it is. Just because Herr Bartels and some others want a united military force doesn't mean that it must be 1 army. It doesn't mean that it will be compulsory and it doesn't mean it will happen anytime soon. But, sometime in the future it probably will happen in some form. Not necessarily in my lifetime. He named the countries who are interested in some form of unified military. Basically the same as in CD's post, but in Telegraph wind up sort of way.
Point being not compulsory and no plans for a 1 army solution. More leave BS.
The real arrogance comes from those on here who believe that their 'remain' vote carries more validity than that of the leavers who didn't know what they were voting for.
The IFS predict a £20 - 40bn hole in government finances as a result of brexit over the next few years. Are you suggesting we just rack that up as more debt or will there be further cuts and / or tax rises?Let's move on to porky pie number two. Immediately upon voting leave we were told a grave consequence would be an emergency stealth budget imposing large tax hikes and swinging cuts. Erm didn't happen did it.
Are you saying the government, whose report Osbourne pulled the figures from, are not as competent with the economy as most would have you believe. Totally agree.Meanwhile my house price has collapsed - oh no its Billy Bull the third
Surely the key word there is could.

UK house prices fell unexpectedly in June, dragging the annual rate of growth to the lowest level in four years in the latest sign that consumers are shying away from major spending commitments.
No concerns about increased tension between Russia and America, or North Korea firing off missles, or the issues with the Iran nuclear deal?I am sorry my signal isn't so good in my brand new air raid shelter - is war over yet?
