Bet many many people happily eat beans or tomato or tuna from a can...so what is up with chicken from a can? Doesn't it fit your agenda???

Love that May is trying to dodge the no confidence vote by staying out of the country!

If the 48 letters are in, which is strongly being rumoured, they won't actually act on it until the Prime Minister is on UK soil.

If only May could have been so savvy in negotiations!
The same 48 as reported by the press about 2wks ago?

I have been in a position (nothing compared to being PM or leader of the Tory party) which when my job was under threat - I thought 'fck it! I have a job to do & until others show their hand fully - I will carry on & do it to the best of my ability regardless if what anyone says or does'
So I actually have a large degree of respect for her even though I disagree with lots she has done & said now & in other roles.

The fact is, you look at the alternatives & wonder if it is a case of 'better the devil you know'? She is respecting the decision of the vote (to leave the EU), & got what she believes is the best deal for the UK (with enough wriggle room to gain an aimicable settlement, I suspect)

One of the alternatives is Mr Corbyn who has brazenly called out TM for stopping a vote she believed she would not win, & in the next breath has declined to call a vote of no confidence because he doesn't believe he can win it! Credibility Jezza, credibility!!!

But Ashdown is right to a degree. Anything but leave now will result in the idealists embarking upon living their dream...with scant regard for anyone or anything. THAT is when the real bullying begins. They have been emboldened by previous regerenda & their re-runs. A Brexit overturn would actually spell disaster for Europe - not just the EU imo.

You believe twitter's grapevine speculation if it pleases you...it will eventually come true, perhaps. I will await the official Graham Brady announcement.

My own opinion is that the whole thing is a mess, but will sort itself out. May is far from ideal but I cannot see anyone better either.

Sounds very familiar. Rees Mogg, Johnson, Farage and co come into that category. Sounds like a no deal situation and as for bullying, that is increasing as Brexit unravels.

Awaits insults....

You’re right it’s all about an agenda and not wishing to see a race to the bottom. Fair enough if you’d be happy eating it, I wouldn’t be and don’t think anyone should have to either

If nothing else it’s enforced my decision to become a vegetarian. God bless brexit. I think chicken in a can should be the official meal of Brexit day.

And that really is the thing. When you look at the likely candidates voting labour and JC is a lot more palatable.

It doesn’t even mean she will go. Despite the vote of no confidence she might still be the most popular candidate for leader in the party if she chooses to stand. Got a feeling that this is going to rip the Tories apart.

Do you see it as good or bad news?

Before you answer consider that we could end up with Doris as PM :wideyed:

I can’t see it being on the shelves across Europe anytime soon, especially Italy. Enjoy.

To be honest I don’t see it as either, both are far from ideal. I’d expect to see Rudd as PM rather than Johnson

No because it’s not allowed to. Given many Europeans take some perverse delight in abusing animals so I hardly think they’d be bothered

But we don't decide. I would expect a leavers as next PM if she goes. Although Javid and Rudd have given their full support for May. This normally happens with those who want the post.

You’d imagine all of those up in arms about Brown taking over from Blair would also be desperate for there be a General Election now.

A leaver? I’d imagine it would be Gove then

I don’t think that any culture takes delight in animal cruelty, apart from Spain. Even then there’s a lot of people there opposed to it.

Oh yeah, and a lot of nasty people in the UK who would like to overturn the hunting ban.

This is the fear!

I do think if they depose May, we might see a split however.

Cameron's plan of unifying his party isn't exactly working...

Copied from Twitter:

Next Tory leader, latest odds:

The one who lied on a bus 6-1

The one who lied about impact assessments 8-1

The one who lied to Parliament and resigned 10-1

The one who lied and didn’t resign 15-1

The one who destroyed the NHS 20-1

The one who didn’t know we were an island 8-1

Corbyn. What a pathetic ditherer he has shown himself to be in the last couple of weeks. The government close to collapse and an opportunity to win over the DUP. Yet still he doesn’t call for a VOC in the government. The last 10 days were his best chance to force a GE. A slim one admittedly but his best chance. Now there could well be a new PM whose first objective will be to win back the DUP support.

May is awful but this clown is even worse.
