After all, We're all in it together supposedly.

As in rules and regulations yes I agree. But as we all know this doesn't happen. What does happen is some people decide who should keep to rules and regulations and defend others that don't keep to rules and regulations.Everyone should be on level playing field

Solidarity is the main word here. If you disagree with those you normally agree with you don't say anything about what they have said and let it go. But you pick anyone else up that makes a comment about it.

Bit of a strange one.People probably wouldn't use Private Schools as much if state schools had their issues sorted out. It's a postcode lottery on the school you will get anyway so you still have to live in a nicer area to get into some of the better schools with the nicer kids there.
Try having a really bright kid stuck in a class full of kids who can't be arsed and their parents can't be arsed and see what happens. They don't stay bright for long.
There aren't enough resources for the teachers to be able to deal with them, naturally they focus on those who are behind or those who cause trouble.

Where does it end? No cars over 25k as they are nicer than the majority can afford. Only £200 a week can be spent on food. You can only eat out once a week. No house allowed where there are mire bedrooms than people living there.
What is the use of working hard to improve yourself if you can have others decide how you should spend your money?
What pisses me off is when I see people that have never worked, and have played and lived off the system have a new car outside their house....all paid for by us. But I would never try banning people on benefits from getting a car off the mobility scheme.
There was one about martial law as well last night, those sort of articles do way more damage

We live in a nice area. But the senior school should be doing much better. It is in a great location... right at the side of a beach. It has some real good teachers. But yes plenty of kids that mess about.
My 17 year old got invited to the local private school as she has always done well. I would only have paid half the fees and the school would have funded the rest. They need pupils like her to keep their pass marks high. But when I gave her the choice she chose the local school as she wanted to be with her friends. She ended up with her A*'s including both English. She has friends that did just as well. But the school still underachieved.
And she made the right choice. The private school is now fully government funded and free to go to. Their grades have plunged. A good school ruined.
You have to be on the ball these days. I always communicate with my children's schools. Sort out any problems as they arise. I even found out there was one teacher bullying my daughter. So I paid him a visit and we had words. He left her alone after that. Wish I took it further though as he got the sack a year later for bullying.....

We went in to see the head teacher, it took her about 5 minutes to realise which kid we were on about and knew absolutely nothing about her. She had to go and get her teacher who basically said how amazing she was and that she was helping the other kids in class learn how to read. (Think she was about 5 at the time). She was coming home and wanting to read grown up books and learn things herself as they were just giving her colouring pages to do once she had done the work to keep her occupied.
They were more focused on fire fighting the little twatty kids who were naughty or getting the kids who were way under achieving up to standards rather than push her further. It wasn't the teachers individual fault, they were dealing with about 30 kids so didn't have time to think about giving her more advanced stuff. It baffled her that "naughty kids" got rewarded for not being naughty, it didn't set a good example.
She didn't go back to that school the next term.
Can see the appeal of paying to go private if it's a decent school where they have the resources to make them thrive.
Most schools have the potential to be decent provided they are staffed and funded correctly. As you mentioned before the resources have simply dried up meaning that teachers are being ask to do the impossible, without the infrastructure in place to give everyone the means to be successful, relative to their ability.
Not the individual teachers fault but what else can parents do?
Other than not voting for a party that has consistently reduced public spending, not a lot sadly.
Does it?What has that got to do with anything? If someone gets a car off the benefits scheme it suggests that they actually need one. My best mate's wife has severe MS and stopped working to care for her full-time, so they got a car off of it...I don't see how anyone could be angry about that!

My 17 year old finished with her boyfriend last year because he was ending up like his parents. They have never worked. They have everything wrong with them. Their kids have everything wrong with them. But reality is I am in a worse state than any of them. Her ex boyfriend even had a strawberry allergy but loved eating strawberries at our house. They all did as his mother said. He got a couple of job interviews and couldn't be bothered to turn up.
As I said I wouldn't get rid if the benefit. But how many lifelong scroungers do we have? But of course I suppose they don't exist because it was me that mentioned them.
