But where did I say it was you?

True, you didn't. But you were replying to me.
I'm not having a go at Forbes as a source, I just don't think they're correct on this occasion based on other stuff I've read. Just my conclusion. They could be right and the sources I've linked could be wrong, like I say, that's a perfectly possible scenario.

You make it sound like we got about half of it back.

The Tories have done well out of the EU. The landed gentry have done the best. They have got millions for having land passed down to them. I know why Tories want to stay in.

So how much goes back to the tax payer?

I just quoted the figures. If you think that equates to half fair enough.

The money goes into things like subsidies for farming and fishing, some goes into projects in infrastructure etc.

I’ve already told you how much comes back not sure why you’re asking again. Do you think it bypasses the public coffers and goes straight into an offshore pension fund for the PM or something?

Just look at this thread. On an average someone as respected as Forbes making such a statement would be welcomed. Yet on here the vast majority of comments are trying to find fault with it. It shows that I am wasting my time giving my opinion on what could happen as most are only interested in how badly it can go wrong.

So I am finally finished on this thread. Have fun.

It is you who should read it. A bureaucrat is an impartial public servant, not a dictator. If you don’t like the rules he is following you have to vote to change the administration he is working for.

The bureaucrats don’t pass the laws. They administer them.
If YOU read it...it does mention 'ministers'...& the other stuff we have disputed in recent weeks? Maybe this helps make the point..."PM Orban - Hungary will block any punitive EU action on Poland" - PM Orban - Hungary will block any punitive EU action on Poland

The Poles have made a change to their judiciary that the EU disapproves of - so simply take away voting rights for a while. The Hungarians are keen to have a Central EU caucus (to counter-balance the dominant Fr-Ger western one) - that's not divisive at all is it?

As the article says:
„optimism remains well below its level before last year’s Brexit vote, a survey by Lloyds Bank showed on Friday.“
I'm pointing out that it isn't how the likes of you would seem to want things panning out despite the current uncertainty

The EU is 28 countries committed to separation of legislative and judicial systems. Poland is intending politicizing the judiciary. The Daily Mail called our judiciary traitors, so they are probably on Poland‘s side in this. You too I assume.

Morning All,

A couple of things:

People didn't vote for Brexit because they're racist, study finds | Metro News

That's kind of what I was trying to say for a while. I don't believe it was a racist vote at all, and most people that have worries about immigration don't think that way anyway.

FTSE 100 Index rallies to new record high

Some more reason to perhaps be positive.

Don’t think anyone has said that all brexit voters are racist have they? I think it was Billy Brag who pointed out that all racist voted brexit though and generally speaking it’s good to be on a different side to them.

but plenty of respected publications are contradicting it. You're struggling to grasp that. I'd be amazed if you quit this thread!

Yeah. I’ve only ever heard the comments you brought up as sarcasm and irony too. I guess you should stop worrying about it then.

I'm not worried.

The FTSE's up, a study proved we're not all racists, and the missus just got a new job with great money working europe wide.

Brexit what? We are celebrating tonight!

In what way? Does it make any difference to how you travel? I can't see any actual benefit to changing the colour of our passports.

No it’s not about that it’s about becoming our own identity again and becoming a normal country again.

The words are more important anyway as we get to drop the words European Union off our passports. The navy blue colour is just a symbolic bonus.

If a country is having issues with its identity due to the colour of its pasport, I'd suggest it has some very deep rooted issues.

Go elsewhere in Europe and each country has its own distinct identity.

But all have the same passport. Bar Czechs.

I dont really disagree with your first point but then that was why brexit was voted for. To take back control. That included passports.
