Jesus christ....wish people would drop this shit about ticket price being the reason for the drop off in attendance. A few pounds isn't a lot of money, nevermind being a deal breaker for people going to a football game or not - what a weak argument. I think you'd find price elasticity is pretty low with tickets for football matches.
The attendance was 16,000 less because not everyone can commit to a game every single bloody saturday, and most probably find it hard to go 2 weeks in a row. So which game do you go to? The one that is rumoured to be a sell out? Of course, it's not rocket science.
If you could only go to one of the games it was a no brainer. It was inevitable that a certain amount of attendance would be steal from the Yeovil game - anyone who doesn't agree that that is inevitable is deluded.
See how the attendances pan out over the next 5 games, and if it averages 11,000 then yes its pathetic and it's more understandable for you to bitch and moan about it. But to cry over a 60% drop off for one bloody league 1 game against Yeovil Town relative to the "homecoming' game after an 18 month exile is stupid.
