It was a joint protest which started way before the game, most of you probably didn't know that because you spend most of your time on here chatting pointlessly about them without getting involved..

It's not like most of you would get involved in a protest anyway is it?, most of you have made that perfectly clear...

Will a tenth full ground next week be covered by the BBC, Sky and the Sunday papers? No of course it won't. Thrown Pigs are news not empty seats. They are news because the game was stopped for 6 minutes and the pitch littered with them was visually appealing to the media. The protest yesterday was well planned, organised and universal in that charlton and us stood and marched together and threw pigs together. Will next saturdays be like that? Somehow I don't think so.
I've said before empty seats won't make a difference but blocking roads and stopping games will...not for SISU but for the police and the FL and that grabs media attention

Why do you say that? I was on the march before the game yesterday. It isn't a criticism, because it seems to me that the same small group of people have to carry the burden for all of us when organising these things.

It is just an observation that protests inside the ground tend to be more effective and perhaps that is the direction we need to go in. That needs support though, and money, so perhaps it's time some sort of crowd funding was looked at.

The key word was 'most'. It's not personal to everyone, only to the few who know exactly what i'm talking about.

This wouldn't take long to set or or sort out either, the key to it is who and where you're asking, do you think SkyBlueTalk is a place to set one up?

So our most successful protest was tagging along with one organized by Charlton's fans? Says it all really.

Sad, but true. As I highlighted last week, nobody can be bothered.

However, after reading some posts today, I now have a better understanding of the growing status quo amongst CCFC fans; it's not a case of 'being bothered', we are almost at the point of simply not caring anymore. How far we've fallen, and how tragic it is that our once proud club has owners that have isolated and crippled it, and in the process, ostricised it's fan-base.

The club's future is one I really don't wish to ponder, anymore.

Next Saturday we have a great opportunity to show our strength and resolve by marching in force to the Ricoh.
Some will boycott the game others will go into the game that's an individual's choice.

Let's just concentrate on making our own statement.

It's a difficult one because it's not something an individual would put their name to I guess. Not sure if it could be done anonymously. The danger I guess is if there is civil disobedience and any laws are broken it might open up the people who are behind the crowd funding to scrutiny. It's looks like Charlton fans have manged it, 3000 plastic pigs wouldn't have been free. Worth thinking about though.

If there is going to be a boycott, it should be on the live Sky TV match. An empty stadium, would be the talking point for the entire game, plus social & local media all over it. Also everyone still gets to watch the game in the pub or at home. Win - win.

I thought we had a group called the sky blue trust who had a fund. Perhaps its time they grew some and started to fund and do something meaningful instead of holding meetings blowing smoke up fishers arse

At Just about every game at the Ricoh, you could be forgiven for thinking there's a boycott TBH.
Yeah sorry for the sidetrack
It's just my reaction to today on most threads
Just trying to bring a bit of humour in the face of all the adversity
Didn't get a lot dongonzalos
Used to have to drop my clothes outside the back door before being allowed in at teatime
so not only were you made to castrate little piggy's, but you were made to do it
Naked and at teatime.
Jeez, I thought I had it rough with a paper round ;)

I think people need to appreciate the amount of media coverage we have got in the last few weeks.
You may not always agree with the method but it's certainly bringing our plight to national attention. Whether it's getting through to joy and co is another matter.
Hopefully Saturday is a success.

Wouldn't expect it would get through to her but, tbh, higher profile is a start isn't it. What I've been banging on for ages, at least it shows people care, and it means more people are likely to join in if we get a big protest here in Cov too.

Also good to see a protest in conjunction with another team's fans as well, starts to emphasise we really have to work together for the good of the game.

Yep. Read the report on one of the links above and it said supporters of other teams joined the march yesterday, Leeds and Orient were two named.
I think there is a growing concern about the way the game is going and outside of the elite think a lot of supporters realise it could easily be their club in the same boat.

Can be the elite clubs too. They're slightly cushioned as people want to buy them. I meantioned Gillet and Hicks with Liverpool earlierand it wasn't accidental, they were close to hitting real problems and, who knows, if the current lot don't get the success they're aiming for, who's to say the problems won't come around again?

Forgot to mention that I saw SISU boss Joy Seppala grab a handful of the pigs to take home in the tunnel yesterday #cafc #pusb

She seemed to think it was funny. Took them home for children/grandchildren (can't remember which) #pusb #cafc

This was a tweet from one of the comms guy from Charlton. Dunno whether it is true or not

Can see the lawsuit coming if one of those pigs causes damage in her house.

Why don't you put some fucking money in then like the charlton fans have and like various members of the trust have spend some of yours.

Well I am willing to put £ 100 into the fund if you are.
And before you start moaning you don't have the money I am only on just above minimum wage So if I can manage I sure most of you others can too.
So put up or Shut the fuck up.

Excellent protest yesterday, thanks to all who could join in. Coventry fans among the best and added the energy and momentum of away fans and proper football fans. When a load of yours joined the march at the top of Floyd road it was a real poignant moment, could have welled up if I'd given in to the emotions;).
Just a couple of extra thoughts having read other comments here- you can't expect to win everyone over or take concerted action together without some form of organisation or leadership. Some fans boycott and contribute to the protest fund instead, some buy a black and white scarf, loads attend but dont buy merchandise or food/ drink in the ground. Its a very personal decision for some people who attend games to see friends and family despite please for a boycott from others.
In essence the focus is kept up by CARD in our case. There's many silly arguments online and in and around the ground, but many of those don't matter. You don't have to take everyone with you to get the message across. We are also getting more militant and some targeted actions are likely in future, alongside more mass protest type events. Horses for courses...

Good luck for the rest of the season. you played some good football yesterday according to what I have heard, despite the result! Till next time. Del.
