Good start to the final season, I've probably said it earlier in the thread but the decline was around the time Gimple was the show runner (before the Negan storyline) and for many it never recovered. Throughout seasons 4 to 8 the show writers struggled and if you recall it almost become a weekly feature of a Character facing death but then somehow surviving. Season 8 it was often remarked about how many times they could have ended the war with the saviours by taking Negan out, but deciding to shoot out windows instead. Season 9 ,and 10 have imo matched the earlier standards set, but have not been able to match the standout episodes of earlier seasons. Fear The Walking Dead has also suffered ups and downs with evidence of story telling being disjointed however Season 6 of that was also fairly decent. As for the movies, never liked the idea , I also feel that the longer it goes, the less interested people would be. I would much prefer they finish Rick's story in the TV show.

Agree with most of this tbf season 4 and 5 were okay as well, it was 6&7 where it struggled and you are right it seemed to be Scott Gimple being the show runner that saw the drop in quality.
Angela Kang (who has been producing on the show since day 1) seemed to go back to the routes of what made the walking dead good, and by in large the characters she had introduced we have come to like. Whereas, I can't really think of any that came in season 6-8 that I really care about? Barring Negan and Aaron but given the amount of characters introduced in that period that's pretty poor going!

I quite like the idea of the movies if executed properly but unfortunately they are being done by Gimple. Although, Andrew Lincoln and Angela Kang have both refused to rule out Rick appearing in season 11. Although that's a long way from confirming

I wasn't going to bother with it and just skim through the episode recaps but it was actually pretty good, albeit infuriating that nobody listened to Negan. Sure, he butchered your loved ones in front of you but it doesn't mean he's wrong about everything, dickheads.

Watched episodes 2 and 3 together and apart from Carol looking for horses I'm right back into it. All creeping about, hunting and being hunted, danger everywhere. Lovely

Ratings / streaming requests have also returned very strong numbers. I've really enjoyed watching it so far. Carol, the only character (for me) who l currently don't get. Over the past couple of seasons we have seen her become nigh on reckless, charging head first into situations without much thought of the consequences to her and the group. How have they not managed to keep her in check. She's got history of being flighty so let her go off again if required, but stop being stupid and putting the group at risk. Her character arc is making me doubt the subsequent spin off for her and Daryl I think the boat has been missed there, especially since "Dog" has joined Daryl.

That's the problem with the spinoff being announced, without that you could easily believe/hope that Carol's going to wander off and do something stupid so we get a proper character dying in an episode rather than 'Hi I'm Pete, you haven't seen me before so I'm definitely being killed'

Could you have not at least used the spoiler option?

Today’s episode sparked a thought. Do deaf people do sign language to themselves in the mirror? It’s only as weird as me talking to myself in the mirror, but still.

Just catching up now with the new series.

Unfortunately, I am finding it incredibly predictable. I am second guessing everything that is going on and going to happen. And then some of the decision making and moves are so ridiculously dumb too. Like with the young lad on the train carriage. Don't have enough armoury, yet they all still have knives and have all just used knives before and cleared out so many more walkers than that little pack. Then there was that shack on fire thing with Daryl, which you could see from a mile away as being a test and then also the Pope's guy being thrown on the bonfire too.

Unfortunately, I am not finding it tense at all, because you can see from a mile off exactly what is going to happen next. 😟

I just want it all to end now.

Yeah, Pope guy throwing the guy on the fire. Negan threw that doctor guy into the furnace in whatever season. It’s been done, seen it coming. Wonder what doom he’s plotting for Daryl.

That's the thing isn't it. It's all been done before and all been done to death.

There are no surprises anymore and it's very predictable.

Can't believe it has been going for 11 seasons now. 😳

Correct. It needs to be put down now.

Hmmm..... so many plot holes, I don't know where to even start. 😂

It drove me nuts. Just about everybody's actions were completely dumb and made zero sense, or were telegraphed from a mile away. 🤷

If some people liked it, fair play to them, but I found it incredibly irksome and rather ludicrous. I really want it to end asap.

If anyone has spoilers for the finale, PM me..😂
