Agree. A lot of average and below average performances. Lack of nous versus streetwise players. First 25mins great. Then Croatia bossed us. Defence comes away with some credit and the likes of Foden to come!

We gave up on the cavalier play we have shown at times and went back to the old conservative England.

We missed a technically gifted midfielder - Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain,
Lallana.

In terms of tonight - Rashford for Sterling was a poor substitution.

Too many times we were in good positions only to then take the ball all the way backwards and pass back to Pickford.

It was like a throwback to 2 years ago at some points with the going backwards. Earlier games we didn't seem to do it so much, but it just wasted some good positions tonight. Frustrating.

Can't help but thinking the English players who look so good in the PL only look good because of all the top foreign players around them.
