Chief Commentator!
Henderson seemed to put his hand on his face even though it didn’t go near his face

Both teams are indulging in histrionics - refs have been lenient through the whole tournament

Henderson did do a bit of a Neymar. Yes here was contact but not enough for him to go down the way he did.

As for Maguire signalling for VAR review, why? I thought that was one of the things football folk wanted out of the game? Like showing a fake yellow card in the direction of the ref when trying to get an opponent booked / sent off

Colombia despite being the equal worst South American team in the competition have contained England easily

I doubt Sweden will lose much sleep either way unless something changes

Just let them all have a brawl, last man standing's team goes through.

Yep, agree. Can see Colombia winning this. They are disrupting play, not allowing us to take free kicks, manhandling us in the area and the ref simply isn't strong enough.

We’ve been awful - Let’s not start already saying it’s the refs fault. If England can’t play through this rag tag team it’s the lack of quality that will cost us

It certainly will not be Sterling at the end

Agreed. They really should be a man down, cannot get my head around how that was only a yellow card..

I can see us getting frustrated and making a crucial mistake.

The ref is poor. No argument to be had. It's not excuses, it's a fact.

At one point one of their players pushed him and he just told them off. He is letting them encroach, not be 10 yards and letting them disrupt our set plays.

Fact.

It’s the dullest game in the last sixteen so far what a suprise

It is dull. Colombia have dealt with our aerial threat really well. Winning nearly all the headers.

One of the technical staff barging Sterling as he comes off, ref just tells him off. What's that all about?

Fucking fill the prick in for even trying it, our coaches should have gone over.

Every bench should have somebody double hard as nails for times like that, like in Ice Hockey. (Apart from actually hard as nails, not just pulling t shirts over heads and all that shite).

England far superior. As long as we don't get dragged into a brawl we'll win.

Consistent with the whole World Cup - there’s been hardly any yellow cards. What about when Stones shoved one of their players to the floor?

This isn’t Rattin and 1966 - if England are any good they will flatten them

VAR - which you praised - reviewed the decision and didn’t give the red card.

The England players had no need to stand in that wall. It’s a joke.

Ref wouldn’t look out of place in league Two!

World Cuo has this inclusive arrangement so it’s always a poor lot.

The refs are dire in the whole competition - the absence of yellow cards throughout the competition has meant play acting and childish fouls have been in every game.

He is very, very weak. Totally disagree with Grendel, because I have seen some strong refereeing performances in this competetion. Not many, but 1 or 2 for sure.

A stronger ref would have clamped down on all this nonsense. It's taking us a couple of minutes to take any free kick in their half. The protest at every decision, surround the ref, stand in front of the ball, berate our players and then encroach.

A stronger ref would have clamped down for sure. He could have made his mark straight from the off, but he is intimidated.

When England got a free kick about 5 of their players delayed it for at least 30 seconds and the ref did nothing about it. Keep getting the ball in their box aand sooner or later they will crack.

Got to love just saying "calm down" when a coach walks in front of a player and tries to give it some.

Using that theory, it should be fine to 2 foot a coach and give it the "got the ball ref".

Exactly. Weak refereeing.

Makes me think he is going to continue to be intimidated in the second half.

Go on Ian Wright, "if I was a coach and he did that to Raheem he would know about it"

He would do nothing.

I don't know, did you watch the Sweden Vs Switzerland game earlier?
Well, at least they saw a goal. At this rate we're nowhere near one.

(As long as Colombia don't start this half like a train)
