Hazard was nearly unplayable and De Breuyne is class. Lukaku is better/stronger than I realised. Courtouis top drawer, as is Kompany. The rest are average (although Feillani helps the quality players play). They are very dangerous on the break. Winners for me on tonight's showing (as Brazil are a tough nut to crack) See what I did there?!
See I think France to win it...vs Croatia in the final. Although they need to change their tactics back to that of the group stages to make it happen for sure

Still going on about Japan and Belgium? Japan are out so I won't mention them.
The minor nations always seem to have a few good shock results but the cream usually rises to the top.
Belgium have rode their luck and are very beatable in my opinion.
Everyone is beatable. I would have fancied us against Brazil too and France often flatter to deceive.

We do not have the best players, but the spirit in the camp is very good for England and we all know that France could implode at any given moment and Belgium can blow hot and cold too.

If Brasil had taken their chances, they would have won easily. Belgium scored once and benefited from a lucky own goal. Brasil missed at least 3 easy chances someone like Ronaldo or Romario would have buried.

From what I saw Brazil would absolutely dismantle us

We STILL haven't played anyone. Columbia were about our level and we sneaked through. Sweden are about our level so we will see.

Croatia France and Belgium all in the tier above us and would see us off without breaking sweat

You don't know that, Macca, that is just an assumption.

Japan very nearly beat Belgium. France stuttered in at least one game and Croatia needed penalties to beat Denmark.

I think we have a great chance against any of them.

Not seen anything to suggest that from what I have seen didn't look like breaking down Columbia at all, wasteful then ineffective against Tunisia. I get the 3 lions media frenzy winding people up but on cold observation I believe both of last nights teams would have walked over us

Yes going forward both Belgium and Brazil looked good. But defensively they were pretty poor. I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’d back Sterling to get one against them but really think they wouldn’t keep a clean sheet. Only courtois stopped Brazil scoring a few more and the Belgians tired second half and apart from hazard looked done in.

Yeah and Greece were the best team in the Euro 2004 tournament weren't they.

Team spirit is so important. Team camarderie. We all know that the French can quite often start having a go at each other if things start going wrong. They can also play like a team of individuals at times too.

It's not always just about who is the best team. Look how far Russia have got with a very poor team. Look at Wales and Iceland at the Euros.

There is no way England are the best team here, but can we win it? Most definitely!!

Yep. Brazil & Japan both caused Belgian defence with pace & movement. Belgium goals against both Inc. Set piece and fast break. Get behind Belgium holding mids and they're vulnerable.

Fair enough let's hope so. I personally don't see us getting past Sweden

'To build a team of motivated players a good manager should be able to control himself, before he is able to control them.'

Bobby Robson just quoted.

Kevin Nolan take note.

Hmmm. After 120 minutes in the last round, this maybe shows a little too much loyalty to his first team.
Agree.

Showing loyalty is fine, but you have to guage players' fitness levels and any injuries they are carrying.

We know Rose can cover for Young and we know Rashford can cover for Alli or Sterling. I dare say Loftus-Cheek too, even though he wasn't great against Belgium.

Pretty sure this is one of the refs who I mentioned as being in control of the game and all the players in another match.
