I tend to go for collection when I get takeaway for that reason, unless its a curry. Never really thought about any reasoning behind it but what you've put makes sense.
Miller and Carter is literally 350 metres from my house, just measured it on Google Maps, so that should survive the journey if they delivered but when I look at some of the places you can order from you can get things from the other side of town delivered to the bottom of my road. Given most, if not all, of thier delivery drivers are on bike I'm not sure I'd trust it.
Seems very popular though.
Why would you not just eat in at Miller and Carter if it's that close? You end up paying more by using Deliveroo anyway, they charge more per item + delivery charge.
