I tend to go for collection when I get takeaway for that reason, unless its a curry. Never really thought about any reasoning behind it but what you've put makes sense.

Miller and Carter is literally 350 metres from my house, just measured it on Google Maps, so that should survive the journey if they delivered but when I look at some of the places you can order from you can get things from the other side of town delivered to the bottom of my road. Given most, if not all, of thier delivery drivers are on bike I'm not sure I'd trust it.

Seems very popular though.

Why would you not just eat in at Miller and Carter if it's that close? You end up paying more by using Deliveroo anyway, they charge more per item + delivery charge.

which reminds me..
what is the correct thing to say, if you are the person who is on the toilet, when someone knocks on the door?
I normally go with '"just a minute.." (or similar) - which is obviously a lie, as I will then stay put for long enough for the other person to bugger off and find another toilet.

It depends. If it's at home I'll shout something like "get to fuck" but if I'm out and about in the usual places I'll just purse my lips around the glory hole and politely whisper "ocupado"

Known pro-Android fanatics, the BBC. Can't believe I pay my licence fee to occasionally see things that don't line up exactly with my world view

You think there’s such a thing as a media monopoly in 2019? Aren’t you cute.

the saying 'dropped' (instead of 'released' (or similar))

e.g "Real Madrid have just dropped their third kit"

or "Drakes new album 'drops' tomorrow

Overexcited radio presenters who seem to jizz their pants over everything and anything. Chill the fuck out, its shit.

Maybe it's a subliminal metaphoric word.

i.e. the corporation has "dropped" their overpriced, mass produced shit on the suckers below lapping it up.

Radio 1 has got to be the worst for this. Every single song, every single presenter. There was a tune on this morning by a chap from Coventry. Bigged right up so thought id give it a chance and then it sounded like pretty much every other tune they currently play. Although I did spot half way through that it didn't mention 'the feds'. 5 seconds later 'the feds' did get their shout out.

When you are really tired and just ready for bed so you shut down your computer and it says 'Applying Updates'.

Patriotism
The quality of being patriotic; devotion to and vigorous support for one's country.

But...the main point is more bringing politics into a great event like the proms. Pisses me off.
