Things that annoy you (63 Viewers)

No. I don't care as long as they're happy.
Food is to eat not to discuss. It's always seemed a weird middle class habit to discuss food.
It's a very working class thing to do, quite common to discuss what you're having for tea, lunch / dinner etc

Not in my experience. Food was to be eaten. I find foodies very judgemental of others. Don't get me started on those who start tasting each other's food!
Gross. Anyone who tried it on my food would get a fork jab

Are you a horse?

I'm not taking about a gastronomic evaluation I'm talking about the small talk, "what you having?", "I fancy this". A restaurant meal is primarily a social occasions not just sustenance

Neigh not a horse. Social interaction should not be boring - food, weather, last night's TV? Find something that interests you at a less superficial level or its a borefest.
Those things are perhaps acceptable icebreakers with people you don't know well but conversation needs to move swiftly on.
No wonder so many people hate socialising.

At almost every dinner I've been to, the question 'what are you having' or 'what are you thinking' has always been asked within the party. Also during and at the end of the meal their thoughts on the food (how it tasted etc...) It doesn't necessarily stem into a full blown conversation about food, if anything it's an act of politeness

You're the odd one out here

Small talk is shit, unless it's about football, fishing or sex.

me going out for a meal with the Mrs

She says - I want x but no chips, see what else they do - and no veg, salad - and put the sauce on the side
After much negotiation - we manage that and I order my meal

Wind on a few minutes - she looks at my plate, says she doesnt like hers, and the only way of me eating a peaceful meal is to swap for her bland plate of food

Tables In cafe’s bars etc that rock. why they cannot get tables to sit properly is beyond me. Having to sit with one foot on one leg of the table to stabilise it is annoying. And of course, you forget, move your foot, and the drinks spill all over the table.

When you're out for a meal in a group and perusing the menu and people ask what you're going to order.
Mind your own business. I don't give a rat's arse what you order so why do you care what I eat?

Think we're in a minority of 2 in getting annoyed by that. Never been good at small talk but I get why people do it.

I get more annoyed when people on other tables sit and read aloud the descriptions of the menu items, including whatever cringe phrases the restaurant has thrown in.

Trout pouts

Apologies if it's been mentioned previously

How stupid do they look and the beautiful women who have ruined their natural great looks with Botox injections into their lips

Hideous
If only those big juicy lips could be put to good use!

Strangest thing at the restaurant last night. General chit-chat at the table across the way when suddenly one of them shouted at everyone to shut up, then when the food arrived he grabbed the plate from the waiter and scurried off under the stairs so nobody could see. You get all sorts I suppose

Comments like this where I’d very much like to make a “Did you say hi to @oakey” type joke but then get worried that was the joke and I’d be the comedy equivalent of the guy who taps in a ball on its way into an open net. Then inevitably someone else makes that joke and get eleventy billion likes.
