Hes got pace and seems to have a great character and he’s keen as mustard. Aside from that, he’s poor.

On speaking down at Bristol to his parents , he loves ( loved ) Robin’s & that’s why he jumped from signing at Hull , to sign for us …. He’s another Tony Daley , but without the talent I’m afraid ……. Poor signing & another £2 mill that could have gone towards our midfield !

You don't finish like that if you are a donkey that's for sure

Thinking slightly out loud here. But the type of role he's being asked to play seems completely unsuited to him. He's seeing a lot of the ball which requires him to bring others into play or move the ball up the pitch quickly whether that be through a pass or carrying the ball.

Rather than dropping deep (which i've noticed he does as he's a bit of a ball follower) he'd be much better in the poacher mould where balls are thread through to him and he can use his athleticism and pace to cut in behind or he's latching onto a cross by drifting to the near post.

All the WBA peeps I know just laugh at the fact we paid a couple of million for him - he is pretty average tbf so I don't blame em

I'm not sure about that as much as I don't rate him, we need 4 strikers in the squad
I mean we were signing for 433

we have Wright who plays LW as well
BTA who can play off the wing
Bassette who looks like he can do the same
Only looks like Simms who is limited to a central striker role.

I think Bassette was signed for development initially

Do we? I expect Lampard to play with a lone striker, no need for 4 then.
The problem with that is we need to score than we conceded to win and we leak goals for fun. We need ti sort the defence out before we play a lone striker

?

Most of the highest scoring teams in world football play with a lone striker.

He’s frustrating but could be useful if played in the right way.

We played with more of a press today so I can see why he came on over Simms, but I worry each time BTA gets the ball in a deeper area as he’s technically not great.

What position was he predominantly played in last season for West Brom, anyone?

As 4th choice!

We've got one good right back in the squad yet for some reason we need 4 good strikers even if we only play 1???

We’ve got four and play one but none of them are great on their own TBH. And first choice all fit and firing Wright and Simms are both in the side.
