the way i see it otis thought we were crap(which we were) and that thorn was making mistakes(which he was) then was happy to see our form changing but still thought we would go down(which could still happen) but over last 2 months has started to believe we can stay up(would you prefer him to be stubborn???)and has praised the team and manager lately for their improvement(balanced).

what more do you want? your still doing the na na na na we love thorn before you did nonsense, especially considering when we were doing badly you would not accept any of it was his fault.

I have been known throughout my life as being a positive person.

This is the first season ever that I have predcited we would be relegated and I have been going up since the 1960's. Just about every season I am thinking play-offs as a posibility.

You don't know me at all.

Cheers. Just about spot-on.

I do think we could now stay up, but fear that we will still go down. Only based on the fact though that I think something somewhere will now go against us after a good run of form. Really want to be wrong on that though.

I have thought nearly all season we will stay up. Looked a bit dodgy at xmas time though

As I have posted on here at different times of the season I have put my money where my mouth is. At the start of the season I even offered better odds than available anywhere else on betfair for the doubters. Not one took me up on it. We went as low as 1.3 at one stage. I have nearly £900 on us staying up. This carries a profit of just over £1,400 altogether. I have been backing Bristol City to go down for the last few months. I started off with getting odds of 8.7 on them. The last bet I had on them took them from 4.7 to 4.2, and that was over a month ago. I have just over £200 on them. This will give me a profit of nearly £1,200. Yes I have about £3,700 riding on us staying up and Bristol going down

Latest odds

Doncaster 1.2
Portsmouth 1.25
Bristol City 1.8
City 1.95

This is the first time we have not been in the lowest 3 teams for odds since the book was opened

You have nearly 4 grand on City staying up? Seems like you're risking more than SISU's investors on this. :thinking about:

And Bristol city going down

Won a lot on us losing. Felt it was only right to reinvest it. Won a few times on us winning half time but to lose the game. Do a lot of ingame betting. Get very good odds when you are winning and bet to lose. Layed Cardiff not to win at 1.2 and put £30 on. Profit of £150. Paid for my fuel. Had a free ticket as well.

I always feel it's bad karma to bet against your own team, even though this year you'd have made a mini fortune off having us down to lose 1-0 or 2-1. I got a tenner off Leicester beating us at the start of the season; pure evil

Nearly all my winnings went on how the srason finishes. The way I see it is we either get points or I make enough to drown my sorrows for a couple of days. The Cardiff one was different. We did enough the second half to win. Was well worth a punt. Put on the price of the ticket I didn't pay near the end of the game

I remember it well. Some were saying it was all AT's fault. Why not look at players available sometimes when comments being made that subs not used.

The problem we have is some only look at AT's faults over the season. Some only look at the problems he has had all the season. If you look at the middle ground you still get placed into the "AT is doing well" or "AT mankes poor decisions" camps.

in my defence i can quite honestly say that i have only brought the Blackpool thing up when people have said stuff like no-one could do any better.

Do you think I like keep bringing it up? I hate to have to bring it up. It is something I very much wish to put to the back of my mind believe me!

I wish to focus on the here and now, the fact we are on an unbeaten run and the 7 games ahead.

Some people though have already come out and started to say the 'Thorn haters' (such a ridiculousoy OTT comment) have been proved wrong.

Lets' look forwards and reflect on everything if and when we go down or indeed stay up. If we stay up I promise I will not mention the Blackpool thing again unless anyone comes up with anything so ridiculous on the matter that it warrants more discussion.

I wonder if any City fans had a bet on us going down this year?

I know some bet on us losing games. I just can't find it in my heart though to bet against the City.

Mate of mine has had £200 on us to go down at 5/2 at the start of the season.

Completely wrong. As is La Lucha.

I have said since Christmas we are going down. I said we would be in a relegation struggle before the season started and said since Christmas we are going down. How have I changed my mind can I ask?

Didn't you predict us the other day to stay up.

A for me I said at the start of the season we would be in a scrap and survive by the skin of our teeth. At Christmas time I thought we were dead and buried and nailed on for relegation tbh but then I became more optimistic after the Leeds game I would say. I think it is going to be tight, avoid defeat at Bristol and we will do it I think.

No, I didn't unfortunately. Did say if we had beaten Watford away i would start to believe. I do still think we need an away win. Get that away win and I will change my mind about our chances. Just think there is too much pressure on us to win our home games now and they will all be nervy games like the Pompey one, but in saying that we are now in a good position to make a real fist of staying up. We can do it of course .... will we? Very tough call.

Though we deserved to win that Pompey game, the one free kick of theirs that came off the inside of the post could have made all the difference. Little things can change games. I hope they keep going in our favour, but I am not convinced they will. If we can draw all our away games now then i think that would be enough with a couple of home wins, but 1 single away win will make all the differnce to everyone's mindsets.

My problem with the Thorn out brigade is the refusal to acknowledge that the squad has been ripped apart and that this gave us a squad destined for relegation.

Yes the Manager will have off days (as Ferguson or Mourinho will) - but overall he has kept us in with a shout of staying up.

This Blackpool thing seems to now have been magnified to an entire half-season; which is utter bollocks.

Not at all.

Rich, the reasonable amongst us accpet the constraints we are under and are fully aware of the situation with squad, players and money. I have never called for Thorn'a' head. I have always been calling for him to receive help rather than be sacked.

As I said before, the Blackpool thing is only in response to those who say Thorn has been doing a good job all season.

I do think the so-called 'Thorn Out Brigade' totally accept the sqaud thing.

I might regret saying this... but I think we're going to get a result at Hull. I haven't been confident of an away win all season but I just have this feeling for Saturday - if we lose it is in no way my fault for saying this!

You show me where anyone says AT has done well all season and has not made mistakes and I will not get wound up by you sounding like a stuck record going on about game against Blackpool. That was not his only mistake so if you want to keep on preaching about his mistakes there are others you could use.

Did Cardiffs manager make a mistake at half time or after? How about Pompeys manager? We are undefeated in the last 5 games. This months games were all hard. A lot of people thoight we would struggle to get a few points. How many opponents managers have made mistakes?

The answer must either be none, or you are not interested as the mistakes were not made by AT.

We are all on the same side here, although some days you would never guess so

we lost 3 guys,1 of them dont matter(gunnar)1 was replaced somewhat(westwood) and the other was a big loss(king)

one big loss does not leave a team destined for relegation, dont be such a defeated

Oh come on. I don't think anyone can deny that the players we lost are a big factor. It's not being defeatist, it's being honest! If we'd replaced them all then fair enough, but we didn't. Well, not until Nimley and Norwood anyway. Just think if we'd replaced in the summer or before the closure of the window. We may not be in the precarious position we find ourselves in now.

I disagree entirely.

I think there isn't a great deal between many of the teams in this league and a couple of real quality additions can make all the difference. Whatever people think of King he oozed class (on the pitch) and I'm convinced that had we managed to just keep hold of him with what we have, then we would be mid-table this term. You're right in that as much as I think Westwood, Gunnar, Turner and Juke would all add something to improve our squad, they are largely replacable but King is the one who is much more difficult to replace without serious investment.

We had already lost the players by then. The notion we were odds on to go down at the start of the season is a fallacy. We were with one. With most the 2 hot favourites were Peterborough and barnsley. We were level with watford crystal palace and Doncaster.

So bookies general consensus was a season of struggle but survival a real possibility. On a managerial front best hand the medals to posh and the tykes.

Our odds were below evens at the start of the season. Once King was gone the bookies as well as us knew we were in trouble. If you don't believe me then look back at the threads at the start of the season. I was offering evens or just above to anyone that thought it was a sure bet. You could not get that price anywhere else. Not one took it on.

Yes because on here it is constantly said. I can find one obscure site that had us joint with posh and Barnsley. So we were even with that one no worse than them.
Most had us in the mix for the final place. The notion therefore we are over-achieving by finishing 4th from bottom is a fallacy other than in the eyes of the one eyed man.

Of course i can find the quotes. Can't be arsed to do so. and to keep on about the Blackpool thing, the point is that that was a monumental error, not just a bad one. Basic schoolboy stuff. I have never ever come across such a thing beofre as a team not studying the opposition. He has made other mistakes but none so huge or obvious.
