It would not be a sackable offence after a mostly strong and positive campaign. We need stability and time to rebuild, we can't be chasing success all the bloody time, it's a long term project.Top half but no playoffs is not a good sesson.
Robins said the aim was promotion and we were third favourite with the bookies for promotion and considering we are 31 matches in and hardly been out of the top 7 all campaign so far, I would say top half would be deemed as a total failure.
Totally unnaceptable and behaviour of delusion
My opinion is that spitting terms like "mongs" at people in a way obviously implying derision is pathetic for someone who we must assume is a sentient (albeit inebriated) adult. Just my opinion. And that of everyone else on this thread apart from you.
No. You were ridiculously quick to insist repeatedly to everyone that it was impossible even with a dozen games to go. If it was "abundantly clear" then the table didn't say so and nor could many fans see it. Football isn't a mind game, it's down to maths and if we'd started winning a bit sooner than we did we'd have made the play-offs.It very clearly was though. Abundantly clear that Mowbray wasn't going to turn it around and he even said so himself. He said he couldn't turn it round.
Do what you've done tonight - have 10 pints and offend people.Your support of MR is misguided but admirable . I fear come the end of March you support for him will become untenable to debate.
What will you do then ?
On what basis is this season a one shot deal? Last time I checked, if we don't go up this season we are still eligible to compete for promotion the following season....

We've sacked many managers how have supposedly underperformed. What was their crime? The likes of Pressley, Dowie and Boothroyd all needed more time but they got sacked. Why?Can you detail the success we have chased and won ?

Where has and does that come from because that's an unpalatble option to many?Perhaps the real delusion is with the fans who think we should be getting automatic promotion?

Exactly. People need to get a reality check of that.but the worry is, Crowds will reduce, playing budget will reduce and the spiral towards another relegation begins.

Exactly. Where is the stability in a massive rebuild every year? The team changes every year.
Why do people bring this out every season ?

Portsmouth:
Promotion from Championship 2003
FA Cup winners 2008
FA Cup runners up 2010
Playing in the UEFA League 2008-9
Coventry City
FA Cup 1987.
Nowt since.
We haven't, but we we have been on an neverending spiral decline now for nigh on 20 years and we all know if we don't get out of this division quickly we will be getting out of this division, but in the opposite direction. It seems we've a given right to go straight up.
Players will surely be sold in the summer though. The best players we have got won't still be here.to be fair we do have the nucleus of the squad on longer term contracts this time round though that will only be of limited benefit if the overall playing budget is reduced.

Crowds will go down next season. Undoubtedly. It will be a lot tougher next season for us.
One more season in this league and I think we will quickly see us down the wrong end of the table trying to survive.

Again..Coventry are good at that.Cannot even challenge in this sh't league..OMG..you get what you deserve i guess.

Have you seen my post on Pompey?I appreciate what your saying but I'm sure plenty of sides bounce back up at the second attempt as opposed to first time.
Portsmouth are a classic case of a club that we like to use on here as a comparison and like us seen a alarming free fall through the leagues at a quicker rate than us and stabilised and secured promotion at the second attempt I think it was. Granted they stabilised being fan owned and heavily supported in there stabilising period and promotion season but you only have to look at Accrington today and this season to see it's not all about the budget.
Today also showed the current squad still has its frailties with academy products still developing and Willis slipping into his old ways.
The rebuild needs to happen further more this summer with players moved on if possible and strong characters brought in again to develop and enhance the squad more.
Have you seen my post on Pompey?
I don't think you can compare anyone else to us or us to anyone else.
20 years of decline, no playoffs, no promotion. Not even anywhere near being comparable to Portsmouth.
We have been going backwards for many years. Failure to go up this season will be another year of failure.
Crowds will go down. Look at Pompey's crowds.
It will be so much together for us next year. We need to get out of this league and need to do so quickly before the decline becomes terminal.

If we lose again against Colchester on Tuesday I will indeed start to believe the annual slide is here. That would be 3 defeats in a row.I think the underlying thought for many is that we know what’s coming and as Otis rightly pointed out, there is a very real fear that we could slide and never be seen again....
Given that consistent decline that isn’t an unrealistic possibility.....I think most of us have been more than patient for a long time and some of you need to be less accepting by the looks.
For me the last two games haven’t just been a blip but the start of our annual slide....it’s more about the nature of how we have performed that justifies my comments....
