Anyone else just receive their tickets in the post even though they selected the "Add to card option"?
Did you buy extra tickets too and select add to card? I hope that's the case as I added to card for the 5 STs but also bought another 3 and haven't got an e-ticket!

Even basic stuff as well like the new family zone for next season being classed as the family zone for tickets for this match. Why wasn’t this thought about beforehand.

Edit: It’s run like where I work. Big ideas from up top. No planning. Big release. Carnage when it doesn’t work.

I’m getting heart palpitations remembering my first line IT support days reading this thread.

Can you reset my password plz?

That will be an extra 100 officers at a cost of blah I suspect
Just some honest communication would be good

Safety of Sports Ground Act 1975 says:

No condition of a safety certificate shall require the provision of the services at the ground of any members of a police force unless the extent of the provision of their services is reserved for the determination of the chief officer of police of the force.

Depends on what the Safety Certificate actually says

The club once again just looks like a L2 level amateurish operation - how, given the Birmingham game, has it not properly planned for this eventuality?
It does seem a joke, and then you add in the fact that they made the problem worse for themselves by allowing ST holders to buy two tickets.

Well pay it then - you have to take the rough with the smooth - on the one hand jacking up the price of a box but on the other paying the increased cost associated with a big crowd

These things should be budgeted for when setting ticket prices anyway.

Is it numbers of staff behind the scenes or those that are there just being inadequate?

They can't be that short staffed. There's hundreds of stewards on the turnstiles frisking fans for non existent for coke bottle tops.
Stick some of them down the away end.

It’s going to be a huge fuck up with thousands stood at the gate with cards that don’t work isn’t it.

If a statement is released by the club with the words "Urgent discussions" in you'll know some frantic arse covering has commenced
Hope there is. As I say I’m sure it’s been pointed out to Doug that what he was told at the supporters forum was not quite right

He will want to maximise the money from this game and get as many seats available as is possible

My understanding is though they only advise.

The ground has a valid safety certificate for 32k people.
The only obligation on the club is to ensure that those 32k people can attend without coming to harm.
The fact that the club feels the need to have 2k empty seats to meet its obligations demonstrates it’s own lack of confidence in crowd control

The SAG have full power over everything I think? They can force behind closed doors for example.

Its the same few problems every time we have a game like this and still we don’t cover the basics in the article instead filling it with stuff like ground plans and parking which is fine, but not as important as buying a ticket and keeping the signal to noise ratio on the help lines decent.

They've just published a very detailed ticket buying guide so must have been listening!

The whole thing comes across as not planned out. This should have all been prepared for and ready to go the second the final whistle blew on Monday.

it gives the impression there was no plan in place and they had a meeting the following morning to quickly put things into place

DB 'Well done everyone, so when are the playoffs; June time?'
MR 'Erm, 6 days time'
DB 'Oh. Er Doug?'
DK 'Woke up this morning...yo 'Sup Dave?'

Regarding the away end, there are barriers to shut off each block between home and away, there's about 7 or 8 I think, so the away capacity can be customised to whatever capacity is needed.

SAG need to reread their own guidance.

Targeted – By adopting a risk-based system for prioritising regulatory action the Council aims to make sure, through targeting, that the direction of regulatory effort takes into account the level of risk and ensure action will be targeted at those situations that give rise to the more serious risks or the least well controlled risks.
Transparency– The Council will be open about how we set about our work and will provide information and advice in plain language. We will ensure we help those we regulate to understand the standards expected from them and the standards that they should expect from the Local Authority.
