What's the point of starting a points system then completely disregarding it for the biggest game of the season? Logged on 15 mins before on sale time to find nearly 8000 day trippers in front of mebwho swallowed up everything. I've followed them home and away (from Derby) for 35 years. Proper pissed off and with one very upset daughter
Day trippers is harsh. Notable that you travel from Derby and I salute you.

It’s a hot ticket. More so than Middlesbrough’s sales At their stadium.
FYI.

Lessons should've been learned after the Blues game.

The fact that they'll be less people at this game than that one is incompetency of the highest order
There will be but the big difference from the Brum game is talking home fans something like 27/28000 tickets have to be sold from last Tuesday most seem to have gone and it’s only Thursday morning.

I only need two.

Will £250 for the pair be okay?
So the twitter post from yesterday on the game being sold out had a message at the end indicating they'd update on availability today, is there still a chance they open up more seats or should I just give up and get on eBay and try buy one for whatever the going rate is? 😂
They say that some trolleys had tickets in them and tickets may be available.

Word of warning lots of scammers on social media trying to scam people with tickets that dint exist. So please be careful.

Also future reference long time posters next time please post that you need tickets on here. A few of us could have helped out.

I don’t know why anyone is surprised by the shambolic selling of tickets by the club. They’ve consistently made non-sensical decisions when it comes to stuff like this.

They introduce a points scheme and don’t use it for the most in-demand game of the last 30 years. Someone who has never been to a football game (or even a Middlesbrough fan) has as much chance of getting a ticket as a non-ST holder on 800pts. Make it make sense.

And to top it all off they’re going to keep blocks 10-13 closed because they have no fucking clue how to manage fans being less than 4 miles apart despite it being done at every other ground in the country each week.

This. No regular poster on here should miss a game IMO. We got loads of dead/new accounts asking but the regulars didn’t pipe up until they couldn’t get tickets. Would have been more than happy to share my allocation with someone I knew was a proper fan.

This can't be the case I'm sure, but something didn't stack up last night. They announced 20K sold, but at exactly 8pm there were pretty much only singles. Have they actually released the seats of the ST that have moved? We're those released just the few ST holders that hadn't bought a seat?

Sounds ridiculous, but for the Blues games two ST holders near me relocated to the North Stand for one game. Neither seat was occupied, suggesting they were not resold. That was a sellout a week in advance.

Sounds mad, they can't be this stupid, but seemed a bit odd. Probably nonsense, but if so can only assume the 20K figure wasn't correct.

Yep, good idea, I’m sure a lot of people here had a spare +1, as long as it was a long time poster and not a new account (although not sure what category I fall under myself, so apologies to the 5,000+ message posters) 😂

Honestly think if home fans can't have those blocks (as insane as that is) it's best to give them to Boro. Absolutely tinpot to restrict good football fans from attending a massive game like that because we're scared they'd be loud, we outsing fuckin everyone anyway rather the seats be full!

If home fans can’t have them why should away have them ?

Because 5k empty seats are not exactly going to inspire the players, and when the TV cameras pick up all those empty blocks the world will see just how tinpot we really are.

the fact that away ticket information is still not released, suggests to me they are still trying to do something behind the scenes, and maybe some agreement on away numbers as was suggested earlier in the week

What on earth are you talking about?
Season tickets holders had chance to buy +1 in the first phase. What many have suggested is that points holders should have had a phase as a reward for their loyalty.
They have 4 days. FOUR DAYS to sell 30k tickets. A window for season ticket holders. Just how many more windows should they have?

The people you mentioned on 900+ points without a season ticket (or if demand as it is to know someone who could get one) must be incredibly small pot. Basically had a Brum ST, another ghrough Covid when we couldn't go, one last year and been to some away games, but thought this season, nah fek it I won't bother. Really?? You're just pissed on a results orientated basis and not much more the club could do tbh.

Home tickets in the blocks right next to away fans at the Riverside are already on sale so can't see capacity being increased there.

Because supposedly ticket revenues are crucial to the club’s success and they have to be as high as can possibly be.
I agree with this in sentiment and at most other games.

However, having more Middlesbrough fans in making more noise is the kind of small margin that might swing a game or the atmosphere

I have tickets and I'm still pissed off.

There could easily have been additional windows.

For example.

Day 1 season ticket
Day 2 AM Match package and 500+
Day 2 PM 250+
Day 3 General sale

There's also no way that the commercial side of the business hadn't already planned out these eventualities. If they hadn't then whoever is in charge needs a bollocking.

Middlesbrough managed it and ultimately the general sale window lasted less than 10 minutes

You must have been in very different event licensing meetings to me. All the ones I've ever been involved in have much been the licensing committee dictating the terms of the license

What's your suggestion? We ignore the advise, let more people into the ground, likely invalidating the event insurance putting the club at huge financial risk and then if the license is suspended or altered tell Frasers they should just drag the council through the courts to challenge it?

What is theoretically possible and what can be done on a realistic level aren't always the same thing, we'd all love the entire ground open and all think its crazy that its not. There's two ways that gets changed, either by negotiation or embarrassment, we need the local media highlighting how we're being treated differently to other clubs and pushing for answers as to why that is the case
You're talking about a different thing surely? the stadium has a safety certificate covering sports events, it doesn't need to apply for a license to stage each event because of that.

Harsh when the reality is we have cut the away allocation to match what we get in return which i 100% support . The current infrastructure is hardly the fault of the ticket office or indeed DK

Because supposedly ticket revenues are crucial to the club’s success and they have to be as high as can possibly be.

Not making much money from the game though, the difference is pennies.

Average ticket price once you allow for lots of concessions is, say, £26. 28K gate = £728K, less VAT is £606K. We get 1/8th of that = total gate receipts of £75K. The difference if we were to sell the extra 2.5K tickets to Boro would barely cover the cost of extra stewarding/policing.

Other reasons for selling to tickets to them, but financially it makes no difference.

There are 2 scenarios that will make people’s piss really boil.
1. have 2000 Boro fans rattling around in a 6000 seat area.
2. giving Boro an extra 1000 tickets or so at this point.

Regardless of whether the Club are trying to do something behind the scenes they need to give supporters an update on the ticket availability for the away leg, as it's only 6 days until the game, fans will need to account for work, childcare, travel, the cost for all of that, etc.

Going forward I think the club need to have a Yeovil at home priority period, Anyone with purchase history for the 6-2 home defeat to Yeovil should just be given a free ticket for whatever game whenever they want.
If your going to start that game can we start back a friday night in 1964 5-2 defeat Southend please and if its free tickets can i have 1 for 26th May please.
