We saw with Mowbray the problem once the loans go back. There's also the issue of team spirit, and also effort from some loanees if they're contractually encouraged to play every game ahead of our own players. The fan in me would, I love watching all those players (well I assume I will with Palmer). Just worry about how we keep the wheels turning without regular major sales.
I interpreted it as 3 loans and 1 permanent, perhaps 2 loan CB, 1 loan LWB and a permanent CB
3 CB would make us quite heavy there with them all expecting to play. Unless Fadz has decided he wants out because of his wages or Leeds have finally scraped the cash together to buy Rose I don’t see it happening.

Give me a permanent signing every day of the week, unless the next Messi is being offered out.
I think the ideal 4th signing will be another RWB with Kane going out which is why that is only a maybe in the article.
Otherwise I think it's 2xcb and a lwb.
Reid will be third choiceIf we get another right back they will have to rename him Gareth Robins we have loads of them already, if he isn’t going to use reid we are hopelessly short on the left side.
I'd be happy with that if we kept all of our established players.I think the ideal 4th signing will be another RWB with Kane going out which is why that is only a maybe in the article.

It's a fair point, although Gyokeres must have shown something in training that he didn't really show during the matches when he was on loan! Sheaf was effectively permanent when on loan too, as the deal was set up beforehand. That said we’ve had a decent record under Robins of using loans as try before you buy. Got O’Hare, Sheaf and Györkeres that way, and nearly JCS. Arguably it’s been our safest recruitment funnel.

Maybe. Nick also makes a fair point (for onceThis one might be too (It’s early July I’m allowed my optimism)
Never listen to MR regarding transfers, we all know he plays the game.
Maybe a defensive midfielder?‘Back end of the pitch’ is a weird way of wording it if it was just defenders, maybe a GK?
Darling £1.4m to Swansea, McNally £1.6m to Burnley & Ahmedhodzic to Sheffield United for £3m.
Can’t compete with those figures for CB.
Let’s hope we can get Johnathon Panzo on loan !

If a summer of record season ticket sales, plus an extensive clearing of the decks of fringe first team players is only enough to secure one permanent signing all summer, then that’s very concerning indeed.
Yep because there is no such thing as a loan fee or wages to a loan signing, we get them for free
If loans cost the same, why does anyone do them?
If they cost less, then they are by definition the cheap option.
A few classics from the account that started this rumour include:
Godden being sold to Sunderland last season
Us having no interest in signing Bright
Ostigard returning on loan last year
Ryan Haynes coming back
signing Andy Carroll
Jack Wilshere training with us
Gael Clichy signing.
Safe to say Cox isn't coming

Update from Robins about incoming, no revelations in there really. There with one, nearly there with another, hopefully add a third/fourth. All loans, all in "the defensive area of the pitch".
