If my memory is correct, and forgive me as I don't keep an excel spreadsheet on everything posters say, I'm sure you were absolutely slaughtering Dave Boddy for not selling O Hare at the start of the season, saying the financial decision would ruin Coventry.

Are we now saying Boddy holding firm was a good decision?

Whilst I'm at it, why has Josh Eccles now been added to your hit list. He was starting most games before the world Cup break in an unfavoured position and was in team of the week two different weeks voted by the EFL.

he didn’t hold firm he got injured and according to an ITK was then due to be sold in January - a sale would have created some income for January

I’ve hardly made any comment on Eccles other than offering a player a 4 year contract after 16 starts is questionable

Our best 11 is not anywhere near as good as other teams best 11. What other top teams would Wilson, Dabo, Rose, Allen get into? I get it's a team game and not individuals but you still need the quality in there. We've been a mid table team for a couple of years because that's what we are. You end up where you deserve to be over the course of a season.

I think our best 11 is up there with the best in the division. Unfortunately it’s a squad game and as we saw last week - the rest of the squad is barely non league
Well that’s what Robins is trying to remedy hopefully we will have 4/5 newbies come the end of January along with Godden, Eccles, Walker and McFadz back in the frame. We are six points behind the top six with a game in hand, how many points were Forest off the play-off spots this time last year.

What do people think is our best 11 without any injuries and suspensions. Personally I think its :
Wilson
Rose
Fadz
Doyle
BNC
Hamer
Sheaf
Bidwell
Palmer
O’hare
Gyokeres

That is a quality Championship midfield and attack, where we are lacking is RCB, GK and someone who can come in for Fadz. And in our best 11 there’s actually only 2 loans but there is 3 out of contract and all of them are in the defence and GK (+BNC) so I know we will sell Gyokeres this summer so we will get the funds to replace, personally I’d sign Undav and Sirki Dembele, then look to the defense and invest the rest there

Mcfazdean is out until end of march isn’t he?

They don’t need to get into everyone’s best 11. It’s the same for a lot of the other teams. West Brom currently inform but Dike doesn’t get into our side

the difference is the other teams have championship quality to bring on and rotate - that’s why we’re mid table

We also don't have the quality starting never mind to bring off the bench. We are where we are. I still think we are overarching with what we have. Onwards and upwards.

Yeah it's that team, but with the possible inclusion of Wilson-Esbrand I guess. Obviously we don't know how good he is but given he was playing in the Champions League earlier this season I doubt Man City want him sitting on the bench

Yeah I missed him out due to being of an unknown quality

I think we can get in the playoffs, but I don't think we will. Losing O'Hare was a big blow.

That said, if we string a few wins together it puts us right back in the mix. Despite the result it was a good showing yesterday.
People think I talk shit, but at least I'm not stupid enough to think we'll make the playoffs. We've conceded about 30 goals in the last 6 games.

Well,to be fair, that first season back was all about survival so almost midtable at the end was a job well done - this IS only our 3rd season back in a hell of a tough division don’t forget

Yes he was slaughtering Boddy for “Selling the Crown Jewels” and then slaughtered him again when he didn’t sell him.

When we had pretty much our first choice 11 available only Burnley had better form than us.

Now I'm not saying we're the second best team in the league or anything, but clearly our best 11 is very competitive.

I think he was calling Boddy a disgrace for valuing O'Hare at £5m when that was rumoured to be the fee, and then when the deal broke down because we rejected the offer he called him a disgrace for not accepting £5m.

And yet certain posters were complaining because we let waghorn go before the Burnley game and not after. Can you imagine waghorn got injured and the deal was pulled! Or Kane for that matter who DID get injured!

We just need someone with pace.

Ideally an attacking midfielder or Striker that can take the pressure off Gyo and give Allen/Palmer a rest/ challenge them for a place on the team.

Fuck this Patterson shit-so fucking what if he was born here-I’ve seen nothing in his career that merits all the calls for his return, nothing that suggests he gives value to our team more than what we already have.

As others have said he’s had plenty of opportunities to come here before and opted to go with the money (fair play).

As for those massive fannies suggesting Naarich Todd-you need to be bitch slapped by a massive trout.

I mean, I’m not sure what you mean with the last bit but I’d take cantwell over Paterson. However, I’d also take Paterson over what we’ve got at the moment.
We’re not signing Cantwell so it’s kinda a moot point.
