Transfer Shouts (1 Viewer)

The ideal challenge for being ‘in the zone’ is pitched slightly above your current level. MR is operating with a very thin margin for error-achieving a mid table finish with a bottom 6 budget. Give him a mid table budget and he may well turn it into a top 6 finish.

A bit frustrating that this will pretty much only happen if a huge bid comes in

I like the look of Troy Parrot, didn't pull up any trees at Millwall but looks a useful player. Not sure what Spurs intentions are with him long term

If we sell one or more of our top players, I am wondering what sort of sell on clauses that sort of transfer would trigger?

Could be on loan, so maybe the likes of Tavares, Dinanga, Bapaga, Ried, Tyler, Billson, G.Burroughs, Howley, Rus or Ngandu

Given the post talked about our bench on saturday giving a clue id have thought a permanent move as opposed to a loan. I would expect a few of the players youve listed to get another next season anyway though, maybe not L1 for most of them though

Don't think anything is happening with the big 3 imminently but one of the fringe guys may be heading to L1 before too long
Be interesting to see the bench on Saturday which might give a clue
Unless a main player (except the big 4) is on the bench i don't see how. "Be interesting to see the bench on Saturday which might give a clue".

If a fringe player, how do we guess who it is as fringe players come and go from the first-team squad on a match to match basis depending on what MR thinks.

My thinking is NOT a fringe player but a first team player (but squad only) and obvious by his absence or inclusion to say goodbye.

If its Jordan Shipley then I think he deserves a proper goodbye, been a great servant

If it's him that makes sence, but from what i've read before its not a surprise. If him good luck with the rest of his career. He has done us proud on our journey back.

Won’t be Shipley and Jones surely? Unless we’re activating another year just to sell them. But that leaves Tavares, Eccles and Moore. So I guess it must be one of them.

Covid Kelly could be the one, he has a year on a contract I think and is now when fit a fringe player. Would be a decent signing for team looking for leadership, experience in L1
Would hope we keep him as we are playing lot's of games in a short period of time next season and might need his leadership and experience in some of those games. But also understand him going as won't be the first choice and is on good wages.

Yeah I think he has been a really good player and a key leader in helping turn the club around on the field. He sort of took over from Doyle and has never let us down to this point. Just think we have moved on and he is a player a L1 club could use In the same way as we did to bring to a dressing room.

If it's not him then great I think he still can play a part with us for the reason you stated.

Be interesting to see if Hamer start v Stoke, a booking would mean he misses the first three matches next season could indicate if he’s staying or not.
As for Kelly can’t see us letting him go, 5 subs next season and imo he’d be ideal in the matchday squad.

Ideal in what sense? We need a player *like* him, but preferably not him. And if the rumoured wages are correct we could do far better with the money.

With the average wage north of 25k a week for an average championship player, I’m not sure we can replace the likes of Kelly, Allen, Shipley and Jones for the same money. We will need major investment to improve the squad. We’re an established Championship team and players coming will be expected to be paid as such. Even signing top league 1 players will expect 8-10k a week and will be unproven at this level. So it will be taking a punt on kids with promise and hope 1 or 2 of 5 or 6 we sign excel. If and when we sell one of the Crown Jewels we need 50% as a minimum of the transfer fee to be reinvested back into the team and not the old chestnut of “It’s covering losses”

Could be an interesting team selection tomorrow
Doubt if any of the younger players will be involved as they have their U23 play off game midweek

Big fan of Liam Kelly, but he misses large chunks of most seasons with injuries, with this one being the worst. He was key in our form last season to avoid the drop. As he is under contract, and a reasonable offer came in, I would let him go. Eccles looks like he can step up and compete with Hamer, Sheaf & Allen for the centre midfield spot, Move Shipley on too, and I am sure there would be plenty of League 1 clubs that would be interested in both.

I assume we're not going to be resting players with an actual chance of making the first team next season for the sake of a meaningless U23 league playoff?

Possibly more a case of senior guys who've been out for a while being back available
Josh Eccles is a first team squad player now

QPR released Charlie Austin, David Marshall, Lee Wallace Keiron Westwood. Save a few quid in wages that will
